We all trade in games, and bar cex.co.uk it's pretty hard to get an estimate without going in the game what a shop would offer.

So how about we all post trades as we do them, and then people can refer to the recent post to get an estimate?

Proffessor Layton - £18 trade, £12 cash.

I traded in some N64 and Gameboy games. Mostly because I thought they took up too much space.

Later I looked at the receipt. It had the names of the games I sold on it. It broke my heart.

Now I don't trade in anymore. I collect. And cherish the clutter.

I got £22 for Broken Sword Wii at game last week.

I am currently finding that HMV is giving me the best value overall, followed by Gamestation, GAME and then Blockbuster. BB fluctuates ridiculously depending on their head office, sometimes they are by far the most generous, other times (like now) they are incredibly stingy.

Rule of thumb;

Look at the pre-owned price on the shelf.

Halve it for the cash price.

2/3rds for the trade in.

Count yourself lucky for anything abov this.

Good idea for a thread.

Can I suggest people also state where they traded the game in aswell as confirming the price.

I tend not to trade anything - I sell on ebay, and I think I get much better cash prices.

I got £18 trade in for Resistance2 at HMV last week.

I wonder how much I'd get for SOCOM (game only)?

Good idea for a thread, can't see it working it though as trade in prices change nearly every day.

Just been into HMV and got quoted pathetic prices for some old 360 & PSP games. It really isn't worth it unless you're trading in fairly new games / you just can't be arsed with selling them online.

I think I'm going ot start looking at the ebay / online auction route.

And in some places fluctuate shop by shop.
