I watched the first two episodes. I really like it already. Kyle MacLachlan is amazing in any scene he's in. Dale Cooper is such an oddball it's fascinating to watch. The guy who plays the sheriff too is great. Was sad to read that the actor playing him won't be returning for season 3. They play off each other so well.

The whole thing isn't as weird as I imagined it would be. It's a fairly straightforward murder-mystery so far, though some of the acting and music is definitely intentionally weird. All I know of Twin Peaks are the famous parts that are parodied in things like The Simpsons, so I imagine it gets much stranger later on.

What's this "Interrnational Pilot" that came with the rest of the episodes all about? I went googling and I'm fairly sure I read a significant spoiler about the main mystery :fp: so I didn't read any further. Is it just a longer cut of the pilot that aired outside of the States?

The international pilot was a cut of the first episode and some other scenes from other episodes that wrapped everything up as a single TV movie. It has no bearing on anything in the show proper so you can ignore everything you know about it.

Is there a different killer in the international pilot than there is at the end of the Laura Palmer arc midway through season 2?

trust me you'll start hitting the weird stuff as it keeps going further in season 1 , season 2 then goes full on bizarre at points .I love it when it does.

Got eight more episodes of season 2 and Fire Walk with Me to watch before Monday. Season 2 has become a slog.

Worth skipping the gooseberry fool episodes as per the chart posted earlier?

I watched episode 103 during the week and the weirdness has begun in earnest.

I've powered through it now and I'm up to 2x19 but yeah I'm sure a lot of that middle section was skippable. Probably could have just read Wikipedia synopses.

The end of 2x16 though- I don't know what this is.

Yeah I'd skip those episodes. Getting through the majority of Season 2 was a real chore during my rewatch but I finally finished it last night. There's moments here and there but overall it's pretty terrible.

Fire Walk With Me tonight for the first time and The Missing Pieces on Sunday and then I'm all set for the new stuff.

Finished season 2 and I'm glad I didn't watch this at the time because that wasn't an ending.

Albert is the best character of the show, blates.

Fire Walk with Me-

20 minutes in and Kiefer Sutherland and David Bowie are both playing FBI agents. Sure why not?

I'm watching this online and that's the version I watched :fp: As far as I can see most of the scenes from that pilot are in Episode 2 (s01e03) and the ending of that version is essentially Cooper's Dream, but staged as reality. The pilot itself was shot to conclude the story and sell the pilot as a TV movie.

So far I'm really enjoying it. Like, really enjoying it to the point where I which I now wish I'd watched it years ago. Cooper is strawberry floating brilliant.

I saw episode 104 last night. Cooper and Albert are both amazing.

I love the way Cooper's eyes light up whenever anyone offers him a piece of cake or a coffee.

I'm trying with S1Ep2 but it's such an effort. I can't get past how 90's it feels right now.

You know the style is an intentionally heightened parody of American soaps, right?

Also David Lynch.
