If you click through to the EMP Pad twitter account, most of their timeline appears to be retweets of Noel endorsing their "miracle mat".

Does anyone really care what Noel Edmonds has to say, though?

This tweet from, as described in her bio, a mum of 6 with breast cancer. So presumably she cares.

Look at Noel, pushing that false hope for some product endorsement pay. Lovely.

Not related to Noel Edmonds but twitter is strawberry floated isn't it? In the last few months they've changed search to make it near useless and the while you were away shite on my timeline just makes me use it less each day.

The official website and app are a pain in the arse. Third-party apps are where it's at.

Something going down with Twitter

Pictures won't load and Tweetdeck is borked.

So how's everyone finding the new redesign?

Can't say I'm too fussed. I'm just glad they've made it easier to view lists while on mobile.

I like how minimalistic it is compared to before. Seeing tweets updated with like and tweet amounts in realtime is really cool too and list access being just a swipe away is something that should have happened years ago. "Promoted tweets" aka adverts don't appear in lists so it's no surprised that feature was previously hidden away through 2 or 3 menus. If you could combine the design of the official app with the features of Tweetbot you'd basically have the perfect Twitter app.

How do I stop Twitter sending emails to me?

Yeah, I've stopped using Tweetbot entirely since their trending system is non existent (probably not allowed). Like you say, between the two would be a perfect app.

They don't let third party apps use trends, polls, moments and group messaging for some annoying reason. I'd use the official app more but the amount of ads in it is ridiculous, there was a jailbreak tweak to remove them but I never bother jailbreaking any more.

I've noticed ads are much less prevalent now than they have been, but I'm still annoyed by the "in case you missed it" and "highlights" bits pulling things out of order on your timeline.

Can't you get rid of that now by turning off the "Show me the best Tweets first" bit in the settings?

I've got that turned off, but I still get the "in case you missed it stuff".
