METAL GEAR!?

Anything with Cam Clarke I'll love. Final Fantasy XII and Valkyria Chronicles have top quality VA too.

Tales of Symphonia 2 also has great voice acting, which was a real surprise considering the last one was just alright. It sounds very natural and acted, rather than just read off the page.

Prince of Persia too. The little skits between the two characters are superbly done.

Possibly the best voice acting in years.

He wasn't bad in PoP either - I think Drake's mouth motion-capturing greatly aided his task there.

And how about Patrick Zimmerman as Revolver Ocelot. I've been working on that voice since MGS2 made him a legend, I know the whole Tanker speech. Quoted it in an English essay too.

I really didn't like the voice acting in GTA IV. The swearing was delivered very forcibly and very unconvincingly, and with the amount of swearing in the dialogue it really let the narration down, despite some generally quality acting in the rest of the script.

I think the problem was with the script more than the voice acting.

Well sure but it was all delivered well enough except for the swearing, which is unfortunate as it's a large part of the game.

Voice acting really has become a lot, lot better recently.

I love it when I notice famous voices like Tony the Tiger in Killzone. And just tonight, I noticed Phil and Lil's voice actor from the Rugrats in Lost Odyssey.

Eternal Sonata, Frederick Chopin's voice actor. Damn sexy.

David Hayter, and David Bateson voice actor of Agent 47.

Agreed o/

I recently played through this, and he was just so damn convincing, Billy on the other hand was a bit iffy at times, but the Reverand sure did sound tough!

Dominic Armato gets my vote, I loved the work he did in Curse of monkey island as Guybrush, and also the guy who played Murray was kick ass!

Cue many David Hayter nominations.

You beat me!

I'm very fond of everyone's voices in Metal Gear, really brings it to life for me.

I was also keen on Lara's voice before Keeley Hawes. Nothing against her but she sounds very soft compared to whoever voiced her in Chronicles, I thought a stronger and slightly deeper voice suited the character more.

Honourable mentions: whoever voices Fran and also Basch in FFXII. Very sexy pair of voices!

Who was Judie Dench!?

Oblivion has some good in a bad way voice acting:

Beggar in posh voice: I hear Olbivion gates have began opening in Chedynhal.
*Turns to you*
Beggar in beggar's voice: Blessings of Akatosh to ye!

I realise that doesn't work at all me typing it.

Hitman trivia.

The voice actor actually looks like 47, and likes the character so much he actually wanted to play him in the movie.

Hitman trivia 2.

The character of Agent 47 was based around his voice actor.

I haven't played Killzone 2, but in the trailer that bald guy there has a good voice actor, who i believe is famous somehow.

I don't think she was in it. Maybe he's mixing her up with Zoe Wanamaker. She's kind of spoiling Fable 2 for me. Every time I meet Theresa, I just end up thinking of the hideous character she plays in My Family.

Came here to mention this. There is a lot of good voice acting in Broken Sword!

Broken Sword is the only game I couldn't bear to play without the voice acting. It's tremendously well done and really does add to the characters' personalities.

Otherwise though I can only think of bad examples of video game voice acting. Oh well :P

Anything anyone ever says in System Shock 2. A game which manages to have possibly the greatest cast of characters who are brilliantly fleshed out despite the player never actually meeting any of them.

Also one of the very very few Irish accents in a game that didn't make me cringe. I was actually surprised to find out the guy doing the voice was American. It's a very convincing accent.

He was a yank? wow, spot on then.
