Yeah man! Except Except I'm only going into mine this year, found out this morning it's 490, lucky I got 535. :D

Yeah! to both of you. I'm at Cardiff doing Civil Engineering.

Good choice guys!
Civils have more fun, more career choice, do less tedious work and still get payed well and called engineers at the end of it. Plus we get to first make and then crush big slabs of concrete! I'm happy with my course. 8-)

Cool. I start my first year in about three weeks time, is it ok if I come to you guys at times during the year? In truth I know very little about it at the moment.

Of course, but I'm sure the lectures will explain everything you need to know.

Does that mean you'll be a Nancy boy?

Sorry had to get it out. :P

Although seriously, are those English speaking unis or will you need to/do you know French and German?

Yeah I can speak both reasonably well. I'm doing a Foreign Languages degree at Uni so the year abroad is part of my course. Can't wait tbh. And yes I'll be a fully qualified Nancy boy

It would be even better if the Universities were listed alphabetically.

Uni is stupidly close now! I can't wait...too excited...

Been waiting on a welcome pack though, there's all sorts of enrolling and stuff I apparently need to do. Phoned the service centre up yesterday and they said I'd get it in the next couple of weeks or so.

For people who have been to other unis before this year, were you told which flat number you'd be in before you arrived?

Any idea on the specifics Nova?

Also, is there an easy way to alphabetise the list without sorting it manually?

Same. I've been told my block but not my room number. I only know my room is roughly 8x12' for about £83 per week including all bills, and I had to find the size out from a warden on Facebook. Apparently all the room sizes are slightly different.

I'm moving in on the 31st so I need to get backing up midway next week. So soon. I've barely done anything the past few months because I've felt so low. I hope I can make a fresh start at uni.

I need to get my PAT certs sorted out...

The OP is an interesting crossover of what people on the forum are doing these days. I'm the only art student though!!

I can't wait to go back up to uni, only two weeks to go!

If I could give any advice to any new starts it would be get out as much as possible during Fresher's Week, theres a good chance the people you meet then will be the ones you hang out with for the next 3/4 years.

Yeah.. bit like tutor groups at secondary school I guess. Whomever you make the most regular contact with.. it's down to you.

I've aleady found two girls in my class on Yougo (only 27 of us). One's pretty nice. She was quipping about being a photography geek after posting a HUGE message back at me (I'm very rarely equaled at typing epic messages on the net) and offered to fix a camera she told me was a collectors item now, which I never knew before. :D Hopefully gonna meet some people on the 31st. I'm moving in as earlier as possible so I have plenty of time to settle in (that's the first day you can move in).

Seems like other people's Universities are starting much earlier. I don't have the option to move in till the 20th and lectures don't even begin till the 29th!

No, it's pretty much only me that's so early. Because I'm on an art course, I'm doing a lot of breaking-in courses on different techniques, which is time consuming.

You can teach maths and science theories or whatever in a lecture but creating things can take a lot longer. Creative people need time to foster ideas. You can't get it out of a book.
