I think it's still fairly decent, its not as good as it used to be but there's plenty of far worse shows that people rave about.

For me my disappointment comes from remembering how good it was and how I couldn’t wait for the next episode, I cared about the characters and what happened to them, sadly now those days are over :(

I haven't watched any of this season, but the show has never really been that good. S1 had an excellent pilot episode and then the following five episodes couldn't match that quality. S2 was the boring one where they stayed at the farm. Then the prison arc was watchable but still trash.
There were a couple of genuinely great seasons after that before it went back to being crappy again.

The show used to be good in a B movie way. I never expected amazing acting or anything profound from it.

The trouble with it now is it is so boring.

Lol, I think it was around season 4 or 5 where it was a surprisingly decent run of episodes, but in the grand scheme of things that just a blip.

Yeah i really used to like it for those old action movie things of ' Oh no everyones in danger but get saved at the last minute'. A good example being when the prison went to gooseberry fool and a walker wasgetting close to Rik's face only to be saved by a timely return from Darryl. It doesn't feel like there is any danger now.

Although the Negan introdiction was good and will be probably be the most icon scene in the show, tgey killed a couple of likeable characters. Abraham in particupar is a big miss for me.

Honestly wasn't as bad as I was fearing, decent episode all in all.

The show generally really needs to speed up though, they've dragged all out war out for (what'll end up being) 2 seasons by the time it wraps up, if it's done by the end of season 8 that is. If it was a single season it'd have probably been pretty decent, as it is it's been so slow.

Laughed when Negan rocked up in Carl's vision though!

Yeah Abraham was a big loss.

The only characters that entertain me now are Negan and Morgan. And I have a feeling they are going to turn Morgan back into a pacifist soon which will make him boring as strawberry float.

The first half of the season was full of action, but it just seemed really slow and boring. I guess the “hero” characters are just too safe now for there to be much tension, you know they are not going to kill Rick or Daryl and you barely give a gooseberry fool about anybody else.

To be honest as long as they don't kill Rick I wouldn't mind losing Daryl, he's been annoying the past season/ season and a half anyway. Rick would be a huge loss though, if they ever kill off Rick I really would stop watching, even more so now they've killed off Carl who would have been one of the leads had they followed the comics more closely.

Also Negan is very safe as well, despite killing him being one of the main reasons about going to war they won't be getting rid of him anytime soon.

If they could turn him back into a badass then I would be happy to keep Daryl. If they keep him as a mopey boring twat then they might as well kill the useless strawberry floater off.

Well yeah they could do that but judging by his recent form it won't be happening anytime soon, not really sure how he still has the fan following he does considering his past couple of seasons of development where's he's caused significantly more harm than good. It doesn't really help he doesn't have many lines, more just random grunts nowadays but he still seems to feature heavily in the promo stuff.
