Thanks to AMC for imidiatly showing a preview the second that shot finished showing what happens. We're talking a moving shot with next time written on it, no warning that it was coming at all :fp: Managed to pause it pretty fast but the damage was done.

That hole  Why is it there for a start? How come there's nothing in it at all, no puddles, animals, a zombie or anything, yet the second durl and rick are in there it's zombie slide time

It was an alright episode, but I really wish they hadn't told us Rick was going, because now they're being so heavy handed with it that it's too obvious and all you're waiting for.

Also, why did the vicar guy shade his blind eye from the sun?

Is it confirmed he dies? I dont love this anymore, everything I loved about it is gone. I know Lincoln wants to leave for family reasons, but pls dont kill him off I won't be able to take it. Ive invested nearly a strawberry floating decade of my life into this show and they just gonna murder the lead, with no family left, and no end in sight.

It’s not really AMC’s fault if the actor wants to leave after working on it for a decade.

I'm more interested to see how low the ratings go once Lincoln leaves (it's already down to about 5 million) compared to anything that's going on in the show right now.

I'm not fussed about him leaving, it's fair enough after 10 years on it and the shows pacing having slowed down over the past couple of seasons. Like yourself though, I'll hate it if they kill Rick off, I get the feeling Rick will definitely be dead by the end of the next episode though.

As many as three...?

In fairness, could be decent. What TWD lacks is a clear end in sight. Big budget, proper plotline... this could be ok.

Did burst out laughing at Judith saving the group in the field and donning the hat. Also The Whisperers :datass:

Dam that was a superb episode! Emotionally rough but very satisfying.

I'm not fussed about the unclear ending now he's signed up to 3 films, which could be very good. The ending gives them the scope to bring Rick back into the main series if the story needs it. Judith living up to Daryl's nickname of little ass kicker as well!

Wasn't planning on watching the series post tonight's episode but I'm certainly going to give it a try.

I may among the few on here,I think that was amazing, the show is going into brave new territory and I like it. One major mess up though was that he was too close to the dynamite to go unscathed as he did.

And 3 films, that will be great and I actually cried at the end with Judith,it was really well done and I'll continue to wait impatiently for the next episode.

I’m sorry - are people happy with that ending? All the talk of Rick’s plot armour and people are ok with him:

Not dying of a hideous wound, surviving an explosion and then fortuitously washing up downriver to be lifted off in a chopper.

That was strawberry floating ridiculous.

They bottled it and the emotional heft of a great episode went down the toilet.

And after - let’s go forward a few years again. That’s the only way we can keep things interesting.

Rick has always had massive amounts of plot armour (just like Negan for the previous 2 seasons) so it didn't really surprise me

I think I was only happy with the ending due to the news released afterwards, about the 3 films Rick Grimes will be in, if the ending literally was Rick being taken away in the helicopter and nothing was mentioned about him again then I don't think I'd have liked it as much.

Reckon they're only doing the time jump again so Judith can take on a bigger role, don't see any other reason for it really.

The time jump also means we avoid the episodes of mourning. And come on, Judith looks strawberry floating awesome.

At first when I heard a wee girls voice, thought it was Clementine.

That was also Maggie's last episode, although she will return at some point.

The future for the show looks bright. Ratings may be down, but it's still really popular.

Didn't realise that was Maggie's last episode for a while.

On the whole series 9 has been a definite improvement over the past couple of seasons, I expect ratings will take a tumble with Rick no longer being part of it but I'm at least going to give it a go, I just hope it moves at a much quicker pace than we saw in seasons 7 & 8 or it may seem to stagnate again quite quickly. It's been ages since I've actually been looking forward to the next episode rather than watching it out of loyalty and picking fault with it.

It was a cop out not killing him off. They could have had an epidode of mourning next week and his death could have united them to finish his vision. Then they could have fast forwarded.
Instead we have the usual bullshit where the toy with us then back out at the last minute. More cynical and exploitative than its ever been. It’s such a shame because it was fantastic up to that point. The whole reaction to his death and build up was wonderful (especially the frank exchange with Shane) and then it got flushed down the toilet with that cop out escape.

Utter rubbish and gutless.
