Despite my reservations at last week’s denouement, I enjoyed that episode. Negan and Judith was great and the intro of the Whisperers was nicely done.

Not sure about Eugene filling Abe’s shoes though. Fair play to him.

Episode 7 was pretty good, episode 8 should be superb.

The latest episode was a bit meh. After years of living in a world of zombies, how are they still getting sneaked up on by large groups of zombies? Michonne and co were so busy looking at a violin that they didn’t see the big herd coming? And it was very convenient that the zombie the new group knew was on his own giving them time to look at him and mourn.

Not terrible, but nothing spectacular.

I couldn't help but laugh at how gay the zombie mate looked. Was like he was doing a zombie strut :slol:

No Judith or Negan,a big thumbs down. Aaron and Jesus playing the pink panther,a big thumbs up. Abraham directing the episode, thumbs up. Daryl and dog, thumbs up. Edith looking the exact same age, thumbs down as she's still too young to jack it too. Still no sign of Opie, thumbs down. A brief glimpse of the guy from the original Hitcher movie, thumbs up.

A couple of heads will roll next week I reckon. Eugene for the spike and hopefully that wee fat bearded guy.

Hopefully Negan will be more of a prominent figure in the second half of the season.

I did enjoy that, Daryl obviously couldn’t be arsed with coming up with a name, “strawberry float it, your name is Dog!”.

Next week is grim. 2nd half is dark.

Fabian Delph is a banana split.

So, are the 'not actually zombies' a few guys controlling the herds somehow or are there just a lot of them?

I assume it’s just a few people hearding them, I just don’t get why they are doing it and why they would want to kill Eugene so much they would have kept going back to find him, should be an interesting rest of the series next year

I've not watched the mid season finale yet but they'll have wanted to kill Eugene so he couldn't go back and tell the rest of the group(s) about talking walkers as that would have exposed them and taken away their surprise factor.

Other than the stupid kids getting drunk, that was an excellent episode. One of the best Walking Dead’s in YEARS.

More of that in the second half of the season and the show might get back into its feet.

I enjoyed that episode, the whispering herd actually felt pretty threatening.

Great episode, amazing how much of a turn around this show has had over the past half season (and I thought the second half of season 8 was a little better as well). Superb introduction to The Whisperers as well, genuinely excited for it coming back (I'm guessing next Febuary?).

I do wonder if we'd had this kind of quality throughout seasons 7 and 8 if Andrew Lincoln would have wanted to cut back his involvement in the franchise, while its not missing him as much as I feared it would I still reckon it'd be better if he was still around.

One thing though,If they stick to the comics and alpha never takes his mask off then why cast Opie? At least beta takes her mask off so Samantha Morton won't be wasted in the role.

I liked how they did that scene with Jesus single handedly fighting all those walkers like a complete badass before that happened, made the final 'reveal' seem far more shocking when everyone was looking on in utter disbelief.

I'm guessing this means Alexandra, Hilltop and the Kingdom will reunite to tackle the common threat.

I also have a feeling that Judith will end up shooting Negan.

I reckon negan will kill alpha to prove that he's a changed man and will become integral to Alexandria. By that time, rosita will be a head on a spike so nobody will be around that too badly wants revenge.

I don't follow spoilers anymore so I'm just guessing.

That’d set up some nice showdowns in a few years time if Rick/Maggie ever decide to come back into the show.
