Looking at it again, I'd say it was a real deer VERY badly cut out from a real bit of footage and plonked in this one.

Utter shite either way.

But did they have to use SD footage? Surely with their budget they could've knicked a nice HD one?

Anyway real or no, no way a deer would've just stood around while Rick noisily climbed up above it, or while a bunch of zombies loudly shambled up to its behind. It would've been long gone by then.

Fabian Delph is a banana split.

So frustrating, when this show is good, it's good. Tonight was one of those episodes.

Great continuation of Morgan's arc that had you caring for the characters. Took far too long for a decent episode but praise is due for that one.

I may have cheered a bit too loudly at the bit when Morgan became a badass again.

This show is so strange - on the one hand you have Morgan and Carol turning in superb performances, Morgan in particular drew me right in, then you have most of the other cast members acting like theyve been rejected for a place in legz akimbo.

Mostly good episode though.

So Morgan just decides to
up and kill a pretty decent bloke for making a mistake
. Gotta disagree, I did not enjoy the episode.

I'm with you on this. I just couldn't buy the change in character and it seemed really poorly written. It was better than last week but I still thought it was a bit naff overall. The thing with the kid was so telegraphed as usual with this show. And annoyingly, it seems like the dude's plan had no real impact as the episode ending with the group, yet again, agreeing to work with the saviours.

Next week's episode looks like it could have potential but at this point I couldn't give two gooseberry fools about Rosita or Sasha. If Trevor gets killed though I'll be furious.

Yep complete nonsense. He straight up murders someone who was actually trying to do the right thing. Someone who when the fight actually arrives would have been a useful fighter. He does this to stop a war with saviours and THEN tells carol about Alexandria knowing she will join the fight?!

I do like how he called the kid Dwayne, slipping back into madness?

I noticed that Spencer has turned up on Bates motel as Sam loomis. He's pretty much the same weasely Alexandria character

He's only been in the show five minutes but already I just want Norman to gut him like a fish, Negan style.

He got a good kid killed for no reason, a kid Morgan had become a father figure to. It was as if he lost his own child all over again.

Richard has been trying to do provocative stuff all season. He was a problem that needed to be dealt with. Morgan snapped because his actions had killed the boy that he had been mentoring. It stirred up stuff about his past and his son. I thought it was well done tbh.

Morgan is not the most stable of personalities, the death of the kid and finding out that it was Richard's fault have tipped him back into madness. All the pacifism and meditation stuff was keeping him together but the death of the kid was enough to break him again, Morgan didn't "just decide", he is going through a breakdown.

Wasn't that obvious when he called the kid by his sons name and also asked King Easy E to be quiet using his sons name.

While the change in Morgan's character was sudden, he has mental health issues, which clearly came back to him, so it's not surprising.

Also, in fairness, he was just carrying out Richard's wishes. The conversation they had about making a grand gesture to earn the Saviours' trust... Morgan knew that was the perfect time. So yes, he flipped his lid a bit, but can see that was the time to take action.

I do think it's interesting when they humanise some of the Saviours, though - while it stands to reason that not all of them would be evil, they just want to survive and be part of a big successful group. I suspect some of them will be flipping to the good side in the end. Also, it's so clear that the tribe of women will be riding in to save everyone at a crucial point, like the elves at Helm's Deep.
