Talking of Eugene, the metal zombies are so gooseberry fool. It'd be okay if they had hundreds of them lining the fences around the building but they have one every 10ft meaning they're practically useless. Finally got round to watching the latest episode and it's just utter dog gooseberry fool. I think I'm done with this show after this series. You just know the season finale is going to be a pile of wank as well. It'll probably be Dwight meeting Rick and become their mole within the saviours. Like the producers want us to keel over, screaming "OMG, they're finally going to fight Negan!" which is something they must have teased us with a hundred times over by now. It probably won't be until the end of season 8 that they actually get around to fighting. And then this huge war will probably be some poxy, 5 a side shoot out where everyone empties entire clips of ammunition, hitting nothing but thin air. [/ottrant]

Abraham wasn't exactly nice to him toward the end though. He may be why Abraham was singled out - Eugene might have recommended him.

I got the impression that Abraham was probably singled out because it was obvious that other than Rick he was the most likely to try and stand up to Negan. Doubt Eugene was working with them from that early on, otherwise he would've been acting far differently when he got taken to their compound.

Edit - some speculation from SONM (comics spoilers)

Sasha will get caught by Negan and subsequently killed by him, she'll then get given back to Rick & co at Alexandra where she bites Rositas arm. This is essentially Hollys death from the comic where she gets killed by Negan and subsequently buses Denise on the arm. Thus killing two of the worst characters off......

Sounds dumb as gooseberry fool which means of course that's what's going to happen

Might not have been intentional - he might have let something slip during interrogation.

Nah I don't think we would've done that, I think he genuinely looked up to the guy, gave him a big man hug too when they made up:

Edit: that episode showed how much the group means to him too - rather than be the coward, he was was willing to be the distraction to protect the others (though it didn't go as planned obviously!). He wouldn't switch sides so quickly, he's planning something :P

I thought it was OK, next one looks good (I think this episode lays some groundwork for it).

Awesome plan Rick
lets make a ridiculous amount of noise and waste loads of valuable ammo on gooseberry fool loads of zombies. strawberry floating genius.

Good episode though, negan sounded pretty genuine to
sasha, when offering her a seat at the table, just a pity that I already know what happens regarding a mash up of a comic scene. She was never gonna take the deal, but he sounded gen up

Albear, I'm a huge walking dead fan, but even I can admit that it's fast going downhill. Nothing is going to stop me watching every last episode though. No matter how bad it gets, it's still inherently watchable and better than 94 percent of all other tv shows.

It's like saying blow jobs ain't as good anymore, you'll still happily get sucked off all day long.

Other than Daryl, who just got up and hit Negan.

I'm still enjoying the show, strawberry float the haters.

Hear hear. Like I said, it's still more appealing to me than most other shows out there.

I think I'm done with this after this season. I'm just not interested anymore. I watched the latest episode just wanting it to end as quickly as possible.

Yeah, at least there was some forwards movement this week. Enjoyed the sea zombies crapshoot, even if that whole 'get guns' plot angle was a bit contrived. Eugene's character continues to be one of the most interesting for me, I hope he doesn't 'come good' in the end and has to be killed by one of the good guys, probably Rosita.

Dear god the acting is dreadful in places though, the leader of the women's group in particular. Laughed out loud when she got knocked out.

Negan continues to be the best and only decent thing about this at the moment.

How obvious was it that sasha and Eugene's actors weren't on set at the same time? :fp:

Rick is supposed to be the hero but he really comes across as the bad guy sometimes.

"It's ok we planted all of the explosives just outside of your village, we held an unloaded gun to your leader's head and then we took all of your weapons after forcing your leader's granddaughter to knock her out. WE ARE THE GOOD GUYS!!!"

Negan is a banana split, but at least he is having fun doing it.

Now you see, that would be an interesting theme of the show if it had been done with any kind of intelligence and professionalism. As it is, it's just naff.

Rick is just completely unlikable at this point. They'd be better off just killing him off, at least that would give a bit of shock value. Put Michonne in charge before she becomes the novelty sidekick that she is turning into, centre the action around Daryl since he's the most entertaining character. Hell it might even make Coral and his psycho kid schtick a tad more believable.

But oh, wait, we've got to pander to the comic book fans who live and die for this bullshit. Those folk who accept the tales of a man and his tiger and old facemelting psycho Negan. Sticking to source material is fine until it ends up as bad as this. This show would do well to grow a pair of balls and find it's own path.

But they gave him a line where he said he thinks about the people he has killed and so he is obviously such a sweet kid deep down.

Problem with that is when they stick to the source material it's good and when they make new gooseberry fool up like the strawberry floating cabbage patch kids it's absolutely shite.

Yeah but those people are obviously comic book influenced. The comic has the group continually meeting ever more ludicrous groups of people. This works fine in that format as it's difficult to convey more subtle drama, but on a TV show it just comes across as daft. I've said before that it is ridiculous how many cults we have come across, and that it would work much better as a group of people just trying to survive. The comic book fans keep going on about how they're looking forward to The Whisperers but I take one look on Google and go 'oh goody, an even more far-fetched, stupid group of people.

People complain about the second series of TWD, but despite being slow paced that's the kind of drama that I imagined this show would have. It's lost any sense of realism at this point and just seems to be a procession of baddie groups for Rick and chums to do battle against.
