It is very obvious. It’s been highlighted several times before Negan and his men fire their weapons.

I don't know, the episode before when Mullet gives ol perfect goatee/smooth as strawberry float head with the chuckle vision eyesight Gabe a swift telling off for sabotaging a load of bullets it was a good way of throwing you off the idea with mullet.

Saw the ammo thing coming but the negan fakeout fooled me, I really thought they'd killed him.

What the hell was that last scene about?! Maggie and Jesus are villains now?!

Oh and the dialogue dubbing when Lara croft punched mullet man, was like a Bruce Lee film :fp:

Here's some windows!

The Maggie/Daryl/Jesus thing is ridiculous. Kill Negan by all means but it’s daft to have them plot to fight Rick. :fp:

Keeping Negan alive was dumb as strawberry float. They happily kill all the unnamed henchmen without any shred of guilt, but then Rick decides to keep Negan alive? I get the show wants to keep Negan, but just have him escape at the end of the battle, not this bullshit.

Overall it was an appalling first half of the season and an ok second half. One of the poorer seasons overall, if not the worst.

Wasn't Negan still alive in the comics as well?

Yep, and people had it in for Rick for keeping him alive.

In the comics Negan starts a sexual affair with Jesus from behind bars. Pretty graphic stuff as Jesus sticks his pee pee stick through the cell doors for negan to fondle and lick. Very bizarre few issues they were.

Wow! I must've stopped reading just before that and thank God that I did. Comic seems awful now as well.

Actually happy with the ending. Negan imprisoned and the hilltop angry but there's was no build up to that at all. Maggie has been through hell and back with Rick and knows how much he loved Glenn - yet no angry words or argument after. No discussion. Just we are our own place now and Rick had better watch out. Completely out of character for her. Also same for Jesus the pacifist. As for Daryl - well the fist fight with rick seems to be his motivation - yet he's happy to let Dwight go free for his redemption happy ending/reunion. For Daryl and Maggie to turn on Rick so quickly after he's lost Carl is nonsensical without at least some set up.
Rick cold bloodedly kills those guys after giving his word but then saves Negan because Coral wanted it that way.

Taken two seasons for this gooseberry fool and the lazy arsed way they've done (especially when they've had well established characters at their disposal) is appalling writing. Some positives. Ive enjoyed garbage lady's arc. Negan showing some humanity (and also revealing the eeny meeny mo on Abraham was bollocks) was cool. As was his dealing with Simon/Dwight yet getting hoodwinked by Eugene.

I'm glad they saved him but would have been equally glad if they had killed him.

Yeah, I don't get the bit with Maggie, Jesus and Daryl either, it doesn't really make sense that they'd turn on Rick like that.

I think they'll eventually end up executing Negan after Maggie and the others convince everyone that Rick is basically a twat for letting him live.

I wish they'd seen the writing on the wall and just made that the finale, as it would actually be a pretty satisfying one without the Maggie and Daryl scene which was just ridiculous. Daryl stepping out from the shadows

Saying that the last two episodes were better than it's been for ages (whoever was directing actually managed to get some good acting performances!) so who knows, but if that's the premise then I'm probably out.

Didn't they change showrunner? Maybe this was a taste of things to come, in terms of overall quality etc.

Still read this thread despite having given up on the show, just in case anything good seems to happen. Nothing makes me want to watch it again.

Only just finished the series and although I still enjoy the WD, it does seem to have a fair few naff episodes. I agree that these last two episodes were good and probably best of series, but the Maggie bit at the end was stupid. Maggie and Darryl maybe, but Jesus? That seems to go against everything we know about him.

I think the series could improve at this point as they have the chance to show the rebuilding of society and it will be interesting to see what new challenges a larger and stronger community face. Just hope we don't go round in circles with infighting and focusing on some new battle with Negan.

Yes?

Apparently Andrew Lincoln is leaving TWD in season 9, probably a good career move. AMC wants Norman Reedus to take over as lead. Just let it die.
