Absolutely awful weather today, with more set for tomorrow. I want my chilly mornings and sunny but cold weather that autumn owes me. I shouldn't be having to cart around a fan at this time of year

Single digit temperatures and sunny this morning. Brilliant weather, more like this please! It creeps up to around 14 degrees later so :| Still nice to see the last gasps of summer

I know, right? Fortunately it didn't go much above 10 so it's all good :toot: :toot:

This storm is horrible.

I need to take the bin out to the outside bin and walking to the other side of the back garden looks a bit daunting right now. Good luck to anyone with a commute this morning.

This is horrible weather. :dread:

I'd prefer the hot weather than this.

This is nasty, but the heat is even worse.

We are on a slight hill and our house is higher than street level but the water is rising, the fire brigade are trying but the street I had to wade through was knee high so all those houses are defiantly flooded, I would have taken better photos but it felt disrespectful to them,

That's the street before my street, just over ankle deep at this point (my partner leaving me behind in front :( )

Didn't realise it was that close Richard, I just thought it had gathered under a bridge or something.

Hope it doesn't get any worse there. :dread:

That looks to be such a horrible situation, Richard. I hope that things soon improve and that people stay safe.

Wow! What a nightmare!

How many hours from when it started raining to "oh gooseberry fool this is getting really bad" is that?

We had heavy rain all last night and by 1pm today there was just a puddle in the corner on the photo above so it didn’t look bad so we drove to Nottingham and got back at 6pm to find that road had been blocked off with “do not cross” tape, from that end of the road I couldn’t see anything and thought about just pulling it down and driving through, i didn’t and parked the car and started walking and quickly realised seeing the water it was bad, behind the house on the left on the photo is a small brook but has now completely burst flooding everywhere, I had jeans and trainers on so not prepared at all, walking where the pavement should be the water came up past my knees (I’m 6 foot 4”)

It’s still raining now and has not stopped all day and it’s forecast to rain all night again and all day tomorrow, the fire brigade where on the street checking some cars (I assume to make sure no one was in them) but I thought they would have tried pumping some water away but they didn’t,

We are lucky that we will not be flooded but all those houses on both sides of the street are and it’s only getting worse

I made the mistake of travelling into uni yesterday. I thought I'd be fine since I was just in for the morning. Lost track of time and all the busses and trains had been cancelled. Obviously this was all on me and a silly decision. Fortunately I had a friend who let me stay at theirs for the night. I'm just about to try and make my way home now since there seems to be some trains running. Wish me luck!
