I'm currently reading 'Clockers' by Richard Price and the similarities between it and The Wire are numerous. There was even a line I just read that was used verbatim in The Wire.
Obviously it makes sense as Richard Price became a writer on The Wire. Definitely a recommended read along with The Corner, Homicide and Drama City.

You need to read Drama City! Pelecanos (a writer on The Wire) used a lot of the research he'd done for the novel as the basis for Cutty's character.

Not liking season 2 anywhere as near as much as the first I have to say; it doesn't seem as rich or as riveting so far.

Yoshi - as others said to me, I'm sure he's meant to be a tit but, still, doesn't stop him being an annoying banana split.

One thing I'm wondering is whether Weebey will ever appear on the show again (I'm up to 3-10).

I would say Homicide. But they are all excellent books. If you're a Cutty fan though Drama City is well worth a read.

Yo mayne, I seen every episode of The Wire now mayne, illest show on tv, what more can I say???
To me overall Season One is my favourite, Season Four is quality, season Three is good and 5 and 2 are still better than almsot every other tv show.
Some really good twists and what not and pretty much every character was spot on.
Glad I finally got into wathching.
My favourite character is still probabaly Avon, String Bell is quality, D, Bodie, Bunk, Freeman, Namond, Mike, Cutty, Marlo, Snoop, Chris and Clay Davis. Sheeeeeeeeeeeiiit.

Just finished Season 3.
OMFG it was incredible. Was superb from start to finish, the characters, both new and old, were incredible (possible exception of Mouzone, but he's still OK), the whole 'Hamsterdam' experiment was intriguing, and the conclusion was hugely satisfying. It was a real shame to see Stringer go, but it made for a great few episodes.
Character wise, didn't like him at first, but now Bodie is one of the best characters on the show. Bunk, when in it, was superb (I loved the whole tie-cutting thing ) and Freamon continued to be awesome. The whole 'race for Mayor' was very nicely done, and hopefully continues in the next season. I really liked both Carcetti and Cutty (and Colvin), great new additions to a show which keeps getting better and better.
Easily my favourite season so far, and, if season four gets even close to the hype, I'm going to love the show even more.

Quick Question about the final episode
It shows a character that looks alot like Marlo working one of the corners, is it him and if so am I right in thinking he decided to stay in the game and work his way back up again
