I'll pick both of those up plus the Guardian book for now, cheers.

I think season 2 definitely needs to be watched a second time to be fully appreciated. I wasn't keen on it first time round either.

Another yes for watching again. It's fantastic second time round.

I'm on the 2nd to last episode of season 4, and I think season 2 is by far the best season thus far.

I always thought season 2 was one of the best of the lot...a nice change of pace and setting.

I want them motherfuckin' co'ners.I need to get back into this. I was watching episode 1 of series 4 (the big one!) when a friend came over, I stopped watching (naturally) and never went back.
I liked season 2. Sobotka was a great character. It was Ziggy who I couldn't stand... Such an unbearable strawberry float up.

The montage of industrial decay is what gets me at the end of season 2. Reminds me a lot of the docks in Newcastle and what Liverpool used to look like until recently.

I recorded all five seasons when they were shown on BBC2 early last year, and I've only recently started watching them. Got to the end of s2 yesterday. What a downbeat ending. Brilliant though.

I need to make a start on Season 5. I'm just sad that it's the last one. I don't really want it to end.

Bump.
I ploughed through the final 8 episodes of Season 5 in a few days. What a fantastic show. I'd probably put the last season behind season 2 as my favourite.
The ending with
McNulty's 'wake' was really nice. I hope they don't bother with a film, as I really can't see how it would work.
A reminder (don't watch unless you've seen the last episode):

lolwut, where is this rumour coming from?
I read an interview with the creator. Some of the cast members were trying to convince him to make one, and the cast members were also trying to score funding for it. David Simon isn't really interested by the sounds of it.

What could the film be about?

It's a pretty old interview, from when Treme was just "That New Orleans show". When I can move on, I'll start watching that.
What the strawberry float! I just found out that Snoop is female, and 30 years old at that. I thought they were taking the piss out of 'his' hair when they called her girl
strawberry floating hell, please tell me someone else didn't realise either
