:fp: Obviously, I told him to watch it from the start... He won't though.

Off-topic but sort of related:
My housemate asked me if I was up-to-date with Heroes and I told him that i gave up ages ago as it's completely gooseberry fool. He disagreed and insisted it was one of the best TV shows ever, so I lent him my Sopranos DVDs and he watched the whole of the first season in a single day. I think I have converted him from gooseberry fool TV to decent TV :D 8-)

Don't get me started on Heroes. It's utter dog excrement. It's just total nonsense with no sense of coherency, I can't believe anyone watches it. :fp:

After seeing all the positive reviews I thought it would be a sure thing that this would be a good show... but how wrong could I be. The show is so slow paced, the actors are all one dimensional and every episode is like a repeat of the last with about 10 seconds of actual action. All this is topped off with language that is unnecessarily difficult to understand. Please don't waste your money like I did, the most I could stomach was 3 episodes.
24, prison break, lost and house are all far better than this garbage.

Just jumping in to say that I've recently watched the first two series of The Wire. Series 1 is better than 2, I reckon. Will probably start on the third tomorrow.

I rather enjoy it though, truth be told. Ziggy is a prick though and my favourite bit so far was Bunk in a pink dressing gown in S1. I also agree with Kagamine Rin about D though. :cry:

Edit: Don't agree with his post on this page though.

OK, well I think The Wire is crack. It's tv, it ain't gotta have loads of action like a film.

24 = wackness
Lost = I ain't really watch it, but some of the stuff I saw was reaching and you could tell they were just trying to keep the series going through really dumb plot twists
Prison Break = OK, the first season was quality but it just turned into bollocks in season 2
House = Ok, I ain't watched this either, but most peeps say its ok, but again it's the same sorta format for every episode, some patient gets something which seems simple to treat at first then the patient gets gradually worse and then House fixes them up with his witty remarks and slight craziness.

Not even close to being right. How you can compare that travesty of a show lost to the wire is beyond me. You call it slow paced and you're right BUT that helps with the character development.

I dont know why, but that sounds strawberry floating incredible.

There is no getting away from my huge disappointment with The Wire. Yes, I knew it had an 18 certificate and would therefore be 'gritty' but I wasn't prepared for, and am not prepared to tolerate, the utter barrage of swearing. Barely a conversation takes place without a torrent of expletives. It will be argued, I'm sure, that this 'adds authenticity' but no TV programme is authentic; the bad language here is gratuitous - be warned.
