Right! So this is messed up! I've always had a thing for red heads and Triss has been there for Geralt in the last 2 games and regardless of the books Yen is a pain in the arse so I declared my love to Triss. HOWEVER I just met up with Yennifer and any dialogue choice ends up with me shagging Yen. This isn't good and I expect all sorts of awkward shenanigans later on when and if they meet up. This strawberry floating game makes me feel like a cheater who may be pulled up on some medieval version of Jeremy Kyle or something!!!
This strawberry floating game....

I was #teamtriss for the redhead thing, but a quest with Yennifer on Skellige massively swayed me to #teamyenn. Plus, she's basically his true love and Triss sort of used Geralt when he had amnesia in The Witcher 2.

Crumbs! I can see an awkward love triangle coming up in this. Who to go for though? Triss the sexy redhead or Yen who likes to shag on top a stuffed unicorn!

What am I doing wrong. :x

Bomb them? Are you sure their health is regenerating and that you haven't somehow poisoned them?

They glow red...will thunderbolt do the job? They're strawberry floating me off now. And can anyone tell me how far in I am on the main story? It's the destination skellige one... I have no idea what I'm expecting in regards to story it's been so long since I did a mission

Thunderbolt + necrophage oil + quen.

How many levels higher than you are they, do they have red skulls beside their health bars?

They were nearly 10 levels higher. The thunderbolt potion worked a treat :datass:

gg, glowy.

I found a monster den yesterday which my horse wouldn't let me enter. I saved the game at the entrance so if after I died I could restart and apply the correct oil. So I do that and am about to enter when Roach blocks the entrance. I tried getting on him to ride him away but the button press wouldn't register. I then tried to budge him by walking away from the door and calling him but he wouldn't come. So I had no choice but to reload the last save and quickly roll ahead of him. It worked and I was almost instantly jumped by four level 29 (red skulls) wraiths. I died. Hard. Roach probably just glitched, but I think there was a part of him that knew I was in for whuppin', and he did his best to try and stop me from doing something stupid. Horse Roach.

Completed the gwent tournament quest. Enjoyed the mission but the cards were gash. I mean technically they were ultra rare cards so I'm happy to have 'em, but I only use Northern Realm cards so all but one was wasted on me. Oh and, other than first opponent they were all wank at the game.

Aye Cerys was cool as strawberry float. Did you do the side quest on Skellige with that woman who has vowed to marry and have children with whoever manages to defeat her in a fight?

I'm surprised at how many people killed Keira. In my game I persuaded her to give me the scrolls and go to Kaer Morhen. She took part in the big battle and afterwards she went off to live happily ever after with Lambert  She also found a cure for whatever disease it was that was mentioned in that scroll from the Tower of Mice quest. I read somewhere that apparently in the books that's the bubonic plague brought to that world accidentally by Ciri after she visited Earth or some gooseberry fool.

ONLY READ IF YOU'VE COMPLETED IT: That Through Time and Space quest was strawberry floating quality. It was so cool visiting those other worlds. That one where you could hear some huge monster roaring :dread: and the one covered in snow was pretty grim after reading those letters on the bodies in the houses.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ciri is hidden away somewhere in every CDPR game from now on.

Can you keep playing the secondary quests and contracts after finishing the main story or does the game just end like in the previous Witcher games?

You can still play after you complete the story.

Good, because I am at a point where everyone is telling me time is of the essence and it feels kind of bad to be running around doing side quests while the clock is supposedly ticking.

My quest log is now just full of the Gwent and Fists of Fury quests I completely ignored on my playthrough.

I did that Fools Gold DLC quest yesterday. It was pretty basic, but funny. The conversation with the pig

Not sure what to do now. I've still got question marks in Novigrad and Skellige to uncover, but most of them are probably just hidden treasure which is pretty worthless for my character at this point since I'm level 35 and have the full set of master crafted Ursine armour and weapons.

Have you been playing casually up to that point or did you actively seek people out to play? If you have a weak deck then expect to get overpowered (they won't even let you in to the tournament if you deck power is below 130 or something), but if you play and win against as many people as possible then most opponents are easy to beat. Like the ones at the party. :P

Isles of Mists and follow up quests (to even name is to spoil!)

Luckily I cleaned up pretty much everything lower than my level before I went there. Think I went from 26 to 29...

I better be able to find those strawberry floating Dwarfs again.

The battle was impressive. The really interesting thing is that there were loads of little "bits"/"abilities" (e.g. Ciri's amulet) that you only used briefly, and never overstayed their welcome. Such variation for such little use. Others would have bleed the mechanics dry (might have to eat my words if some of them come up again later!)

I went in with "the full team" according to an achievement that popped, was worried after Emyher, Djkstra and Cranche turned me down (Djkstra sounded like I'd mucked up by not getting his treasure back for example). Liked the "realism" of people not just helping me though due to understandable reasons.

If Triss went to Kovir, does she come back for this? Otherwise the entire thing must have been a bit different...

Otherwise the others seemed fairly inconsequential? Maybe they just make it easier/less waves? Was great to see everyone fighting beside/for me though. The only "obvious" difference is I'm assuming Lambert dies if Keira doesn't save him? Actually there was a limited time choice was Ciri, if she goes back inside Triss/Eskiel could die I suppose...

Vesimir's death was well done. Hard hitting but meaningful. Someone had to die (although I think the chaps Halfgar brought with him died? They weren't at the funeral but no one mentioned them...seems harsh if they're needed for an achievement and you can easily miss/kill them in the earlier quests!)

Had a snowball fight with Ciri which seemed to cheer her up, and told her to see her Father IMO. Though she told him where to shove it.

Now we've off to see a White Walker Wild Hunter and the Crones!

One thing that is getting ridiculous is the "I shall reward you with [Fearsome Sword Name]. It was forged by the greatest smiths of the last age, it can cleave the strongest armor with barely any effort and is the sacred treasure of my people"...which turns out to be crap and you sell 10 seconds later. (In some instances back to the person who gave it to you :toot: )

Just casually mate. Winning 10 coins is boring :shifty: but the game is fun.

You'll also win a card the first time you play someone.

Yup. Any time you beat someone for first time you get a card off 'em. That's what you're playing for, not the coin. And anyway, I always bet 1 coin, that way if I do lose I just play again and don't feel the need to reload the save to get my 10 coins back :slol:
