Its not that framerate doesn't matter, its just that a more consistent pacing at 30fps can provide a better experience than a game purporting to run at 60fps.

It depends if its a locked 60fps or not (I'd suggest it probably won't be due to the nature of the game) and if it isn't how much it drops frames and how close it sticks to 60. Its perfectly possible to have a game at a locked 30fps provide a better experience than a game supposedly running at 60 (but which is actually just unlocked).

Obviously if it fluctuates massively then locked 30 is preferred. But if it's a dip here and there? 60 every time. But locked 30/with a few dips here and there is enjoyable too (otherwise I wouldn't have sunk over 200 on DA: Inquisition). But that wasn't what I asked about. A few people couldn't tell the difference between 30 and 60 or didn't care about fps once. Now they do and I was just wondering why. But that apparently isn't the case here and so never mind.

The main thing for me is the attention to detail, all environments look incredibly detailed, and the NPCs are really well modelled too.

Call me weird but there is something odd in the digital clock and weather widget in this kind of game.

Exactly what I was thinking.

Arguing over which turd is more polished.

Well that's just silly.

Spend £1000+ on a PC capable of running this game at 1440p/60fps or spend £300 on a machine capable of 1080p/30fps. The existence of the PC version doesn't make the console versions bad.

It does when they're arguing over which one looks better.

No it doesn't.

If your argument was that a £300 PC could make the console versions of the game look silly, maybe you'd have a point. But it couldn't and you don't.

And you look silly when you band numbers around like 1000+

Just stop.

Not really, to play this (or any graphics intensive) game at a high framerate at a resolution of 1440p without sacrificing on graphics options you are probably talking about PC with two or more very expensive graphics cards (say 2 Nvidia 970s at somewhere around £550 total), the rest of your theoretical PC would then have to be less than £450 to make the PC under the £1000 mark, while not impossible as you are talking about a high spec'd machine it'd be very difficult if not impossible to do.

Proof positive you have more money than sense. (you described Witcher 3 as a turd.)

Maybe I'm easily pleased but the Xbox One version in the above clip looked fantastic to me.
As long as it's stable and doesn't have horrific load times I'd be happy.

^^^ This. The 900p/1080p thing is clearly a negligible difference.

This game looks lush. Not sure I have room in my life to play it, mind.

No, I was describing the framerate.

I saw baiting from the usual PS4 idiots and found it strange that that they'd try and gloat, when their version is still running at 30fps.
