That's pretty much why I never bother with these types of videos... I want to go into the game experiencing everything fresh and for the first time.

Loved Withcer 2 years ago but stopped mid Act 2. Can't decide whether or not to go back and restart/finish before W3.

I played through Witcher 2 on console when it came out. I know have a fairly good PC can't decide whether I can be bothered playing through it again just see some of my decisions reflected in the world state. Actually, I already have the full edition on steam picked up dirt cheap in a sale ready to go. I suppose I'll get around to it at some point.

Gamespot produced a very good video before christmas where they blind tested several people on which version of a game was which between PC, PS4 and X1 with FarCry 4 and AC Unity and COD Advance Warfare. They had 3 monitors set up a PS4 controller that used an adapter to work on X1 and tape on screen to hide button prompts. In all cases bar 1, everyone got at least one wrong, usually mixing up PS4/X1 versions. In the last test they had all 3 moniters displaying PS4 FarCry 4 and all of them got the versions wrong.

So now that you've finally given up on parity you're now fooling yourself into believing that people can't tell the difference between resolutions :fp:

Did they gimp the PC version so that the framerate was locked at 30fps? It would have stuck out like a sore thumb if not.

It depends on the questions asked too, I couldn't tell you for sure if something was a PS4 or XBONE game but I could sure as gooseberry fool tell you which one looked and ran better

Listening to these console owners argue about resolution is like a bunch of boy racers bickering about who's Nova is faster.

They can't, evidently and DF also chimed in with the difference is minimal to the human eye but I'm an Xbox owner so I know nothing lol.

I think they all knew what the pc version of unity was.

You're pathetic, if no one noticed the difference then all games would be 720p/900p.

Deluded, absolutely deluded.

I'd say go for it.

I stopped about halfway through the game as I'd started another couple of games and just didn't get back into it. Then about a year ago I booted it up one night and thoroughly enjoyed the second half of the game. Really looking forward to The Witcher 3.

That was not specifically about resolution though, was it? If they had wanted to test that they would have run three versions of a game on one platform and set them all to different resolutions.

Even in regards to general graphic fidelity consoles simply cannot keep up. In a couple of years AMD and nVidia will have released several new series of graphics cards whilst PS4 and XBO will be stuck using the same technology that was already behind the curve when they released.

I dont understand, I dont know what resolution the PC was set to but the consoles had different resolutions in 2 of the 3 games natively.

Instead of propagating, why don't you let people decide for themselves whether they can spot the difference and whether it's important to them or not.

I'm ending talking about this here, look some people (I'd say the majority, CAN'T TELL the difference is my point).

You can't have it both ways nick, you cant quote metacritic if you dont like when someone quotes it back to bite you in the arse and you cant talk about Digital Foundry praising Sony then ignore them when they say that largley the 900p/1080p debate is nonsensical.

Stop cherry picking things to suit your argument.

Looking forward to this game.

GameSpot used 6 volunteers, hardly a strawberry floating scientific consensus is it, and 3 of those had to wear glasses.

Even the presenter said you could tell the difference when they were placed side by side.

Pathetic, Photek, utterly pathetic. This is going to be a long and painful generation for you.

Lets be honest - there is a huge difference between 1080p and 900p - those that can't notice some kind of difference must surely have set the wrong config on their tv or are standing so far away from the tv that it would not be an issue.

1080p doesn't make a great game, but it seems to be such a focal point this generation because the games out are either remakes or gooseberry fool new franchises. This generation has been an absolute disgrace - the obvious monitising of everything, the constant updates, the unfinished releases, the broken release dates. Even most of the remasters are a joke!

Nintendo would have cleaned up if they weren't off the ball. Even their average titles like toad and mario 3d world are better than anything seen on ps4 and xbox one, apart from maybe bloodborne.
