Yeah that one was great. If they kept releasing quests for this (paid for ones at that), I think I could play this game forever. It’s just magical.

Man, this is beautiful. Are the islands easy to get to? I'd love to visit.

Same. I mean we should be grateful for just how much amazing content we got in the first place across the base game and DLC but I would have loved some more!

The new quest they added for the "Next Gen" update was pretty good - even if it feels weird hearing Geralt's actor not sounding quite the same now!

Depends on the weather, difficult to get a booking and even then you are in the laps of the gods. Got a booking but the weather was too choppy to do a landing so just circled round. Still amazing though.

Also the same place where Rey met Luke in The Force Awakens

I finished hearts of stone before work this morning. Excellent stuff

The unmarked option stuff with Shani was great at the end.

"Shani, there's something I've been meaning to ask you"

"....yes Gerallt? "

"...how about a game of Gwent :datass: "

I've been concentrating on main and side quests so have gone from level 25 to 36. Current open main missions are to travel to the isle of mists, and to start the blood and wine expansion (which I'll leave to do after finishing the main game).

I've hit a bug, where no matter what I do, Geralt's breath won't regenerate. So now diving underwater gives me about 3 seconds to live. It's making the In Wolf's Clothing side quest impossible, and to be honest I'm not sure I want to continue at all in case there's any underwater section in future main quests (My next main quest is to head to isle of Mists, so got all of Act IV to go, plus the two expansions). Really frustrating. Sounds like it got introduced with the 4.0.3 patch in May.

That sounds like a really annoying bug, hopefully it'll be patched out soon! As for underwater sections, I don't think there is any mandatory ones in the DLC from what I can remember, what are you playing on? Switch?

Series X. I've seen some people say that they fixed it by switching back to Geralt's default hair and beard, but I've never changed mine. I know the beard grows so I shaved that back to the original one but no joy.

Couldn't remember if you were playing it on the Switch or not, don't even know if that has gotten the free little bit of Netflix inspired content yet or not though. Shame that didn't sort it for you though.

Finally, the new patch has arrived on Switch! Also, it adds cross progression :toot:

ONLINE FEATURES — NINTENDO SWITCH
Added a cross-progression feature between platforms which replaces the previous save file integration introduced in patch 3.6 for the Nintendo Switch. Your latest saves will be automatically uploaded to the cloud so you can easily pick up where you left off on other platforms. Cross-progression provides the latest save for every save type. This feature becomes available after you log into your account. Please note that it requires a GOG account regardless of your platform.
By signing up to MY REWARDS in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, players can receive:
• Swords of the Nine-Tailed Vixen
• White Tiger of the West Armor
• Dol Blathanna Armor Set
• Roach Card
Detailed information on how to redeem the rewards is available at thewitcher.com/my-rewards

ADDITIONAL CONTENT — NINTENDO SWITCH
Added a new side quest, In The Eternal Fire's Shadow, in Velen. Rewards are inspired by Neftlix's The Witcherseries.
Added an alternative appearance for Dandelion inspired by Netflix's The Witcher series. You can enable it in Options → Gameplay.
Added an alternative Nilfgaardian Armor set inspired by Netflix's The Witcher series. You can enable it in Options → Gameplay.
Added Chinese and Korean voice-overs. Availability varies by region and version.

QUALITY OF LIFE CHANGES — NINTENDO SWITCH
Added a Quick Sign Casting option. It allows signs to be switched and cast without opening the radial menu. You can find it in Options → Gameplay.
Adjusted the minimum height for fall damage, allowing the player to survive falls from higher heights.
Herbs can now be instantly looted with a single interaction – without the additional loot window.
Added options that dynamically hide the minimap and quest objectives when not in combat or using Witcher senses. You can find it in Options → Video → HUD Configuration → Hide minimap during Exploration and Hide objectives during Exploration.
Added the option to slow walk when playing with a controller. You can now slow walk by lightly pushing the left stick forward.
Added an alternative sprint mode option when playing with a controller. It's activated by tapping the left stick. You can find it in Options → Control Settings.
Added an option to make target-lock unnaffected by camera inversion. You can find it in Options → Control Settings.
Improved the radial menu so bombs, bolts and pocket items can now be switched dynamically without opening the inventory.
Added the option to scale the font size for subtitles, NPC chatter and dialogue choices. You can find it in Options → Video → HUD Configuration.
Added various other small fixes, tweaks, and quality-of-life changes, including a few secrets to be discovered by players.
Added an option to switch potions and apply oils from the radial menu.
Added an option to auto-apply oils in combat.
New default map filter. The new default filter hides some icons such as "?" and boat icons in order to reduce the icon flood. These icons can be turned back on with the “All” map mode toggle.

GAMEPLAY — NINTENDO SWITCH
Added the mod Full Combat Rebalance 3 by Flash_in_the_flesh which includes balance changes and various fixes to gameplay. We took a curated approach to this mod, with some elements further tweaked from what you’ll find in the mod by default, while other elements were omitted.
Scavenger Hunt: Wolf School Gear - Fixed an issue where the chest at the Signal Tower couldn't be opened.
From Ofier's Distant Shores - Fixed an issue where the diagram in the chest at the bandit's hideout could be missing.
Hard Times - Fixed an issue where Geralt couldn't talk or give the letter to the blacksmith.
Echoes of the Past - Fixed an issue where, after defeating the foglets, the quest could get stuck and it wouldn't be possible to talk to Yennefer.
Wine Wars- Fixed an issue where the quest couldn't be completed if the player destroyed one of the required monster nests during exploration.
Fixed an issue where the Grandmaster Wolven Set wouldn't require Mastercrafted items.
Various small fixes to quests and cutscenes.

Now I am tempted to start a fresh save I can play between the Switch and Series X now they're both the same content wise.

Well I would do if I didn't have too much to play already

Edit, just set it to update and it seems like its a big update size wise at least, saying its now going to take up about 14GB as well as the game and DLC coming entirely on a 32GB Switch cartridge as well.

The breath not replenishing bug has gone for me! I first encountered it during a side quest, and waited for the patch (which listed it as a fix), but upon resuming, I still had it. So that side quest got abandoned and I continued with the main quest. Just come across a situation where I have to dive into an underwater cave and thought oh great, but my breath has returned! Now to finish this off before Starfield. Not going to have time for the DLC expansions, but I can come back to them later.

I played the expansions about 3 years after the main game. It was fantastic getting back in to the (imo) unsurpassed storytelling and tone after all that time.

After more than 8 months, the credits roll! At times, the run to the end felt a bit of a slog, but probably my own fault as I looked up the quest names on IGN's walkthrough and saw I only had three quests left. Of course, two of those quests actually involve needing to complete about five other quests so I was a lot further from the end than I thought I was. Definitely ended up more invested in these characters than I'd realised too. I certainly didn't get the best ending I could have, messed up a few things, but was very happy with the one I got right.

I can’t work out whether I love the fact it feels like a tv series or hate it. On one hand the amount of detail in the quest lines is very impressive, how it can feel like a monster-of-the-week quest but still contributed to the storyline. On the other I just kind of want to get to the next story beat and having to do a job for this person who won’t give you anything until you do a job for that person who won’t tell you anything until you do a job for that person who won’t give you anything until you’ve slain a monster for that person (etc etc) is a little tiresome in long play sessions.

Impressive and infuriating at the same time.

Can you adjust/remap the combat controls in this? Console specifically.
