513 regular puzzles? Did I miss out on an entire area? Is there a 12th laser?

Maybe there's a bunch of puzzles in that area I could see behind that door under the desert (by the laser machine, before you send it up to the surface). Have no idea how to get there though.

Have you used guides at all?

For the line puzzles, no. For a some of the obelisk puzzles, yes... But only for a few I couldn't find.

Once you get 11 lasers it opens up a new section (if you find/solve the puzzles to get to them).

I found a pillar puzzle at the start that unlocked a floor puzzle nearby. Is it anything to do with that? Hint me if not.

Nope, nothing to do with that.

Go back to the top of the mountain where you opened up the staircase... Look at the box from a different perspective.

Thanks. Kind of obvious in retrospect, but compared to missing all the secrets until after I completed the game... not gonna feel bad about this one!

I wish I could hadn't used a guide again. I don't regret using one initially as I needed something to get my head in gear. I played yesterday while in a horrendous mood and ending up using a guide again. Turned out they were the last puzzles in their area and I was painfully close to finding the answer, gutted I've robbed myself of the satisfaction of beating them.

I have given up. The puzzle with the record player proving the time limit is just randomly-generated bullshit that flies in the face of all the previously smart design decisions. Its difficulty is completely random, and trying it 50 times in a row until you luck out and get an easier version is just bollocks.

The puzzle with the two yellow dots (4th) is the map for the triangle puzzle room.

2/3 panels (x2) are unsolvable once you cross the bridge, you have to quickly assess them and pick the right one.

Keep going, you'll get it.

I knew both of those things. I got up to having one pillar done.

Aaaaand, I just went back and did it. With the whole second piece to spare. Got really lucky with the puzzles in the maze.

THE WITNESS FOR XBOX ONE ANNOUNCED

The developers are aiming for a September release date.

The Witness is coming to Xbox One, creator Jonathan Blow has exclusively revealed to IGN.

Blow and his team at Thekla Inc. are aiming for a September 13, 2016 release date. An iOS version is also still in the works.

According to Blow, the Xbox One version of The Witness will not differ from its PC or PlayStation 4 versions.

“There are some technical differences, but it’s basically the same game,” Blow told IGN, dismissing the idea of platform-exclusive content for The Witness.

“I feel like that would kind of… mess up the game,” he continued.

I paid full price when it first released on PS4 and PC and regretted it straight away - I was cursing myself for being so stupid! It's a nice island, with a nice mood and nice music, but it is just a puzzle game. Sure all the games media were doing verbal somersaults in describing how brilliant it is, which it may be if you like this genre. But if truth be told I got stuck after a few puzzles.
