Holy hell this game is exposing how stupid I am. Even when I'm looking at the solution online I don't quite get it some times

And I'm done (for now). Had 429 puzzles solved by the end, which I think means there are something like 200+ puzzles I haven't found...

I'm amazed that you managed to get through the whole game without getting a single secret puzzle.

507 +75

Some of the + puzzles are annoying to do, so I might leave them... Still, only 60 to do. Hmmm.

Just reached the ending with 406 +24 but I only got 4 of the videos and there were so many puzzles that seemingly did nothing. As it stands now, trying to find meaning in the last 21 hours seems pretty futile, so I figure there's some ultimate reveal when you get everything

This is really good but didn't expect it to piss me off quite as much as it does.

I've realised it's pissing me off because the logic is very inconsistent.

Yep, that's definitely what it is. Doing training puzzles then applying exactly the same logic to the actual puzzles only for it not to work is utterly infuriating.

How's that? I felt the colours section just liked to change the rules because the rules could be changed, but aside from that, all the rules and logic were rock-solid the whole way through.

Just doing the section (swamp?) That has Tetris shapes in a block that you have to match. Literally the first puzzle next to the training area does not follow the logic that I've just been taught.

No, it does (I even started the game to take a look at the puzzle you're talking about to verify). You either don't fully understand the logic of it yet, or you're not seeing the error in your attempted solution. If you still can't do it just take a break from that area for a while and come back to it later. There's always something else to do.
And be careful with the spoilers.

Are there training areas for all the puzzles? It felt like I was going along a fairly rigid, Portal-esq type environment then all of a sudden I can go anywhere but there us absolutely nothing to help with solving the new puzzles.

There are training puzzles for all of the specific puzzle type areas, but there are also some advanced puzzles lying about here and there. If you find a difficult puzzle with symbols you don't yet understand, it's one of those.
It's a small island. Go explore and you will find something new before long.

I think I'm done with this game.

Managed to past the puzzle I was stuck on but couldn't get past the next one and in this section there is no way to get back to the main part of the island. I Looked up the solution and rather than feeling like an idiot, I just feel that the game had done a poor job of explaining the puzzle logic. If I can get 5/6 puzzles in using incorrect logic, something has gone wrong.

You shouldn't move forward in the sequence until you understand exactly why your solution was right. Poke about in the ones that you've solved. See what works and, more importantly, what doesn't work.

You should always try to get the tutorial ones wrong to get a full understanding of the rules.

For example:

Image

The first thing you get the urge to do with this is split the 2 and 1 on your way to the exit. It's acceptable, so it looks like that was the rule. But, if you try to get it wrong by not splitting them, it's still accepted and it turns out the rule from before isn't actually a rule at all.

Anyway, I've got 10 beams and I'm just trying to figure out where the hell the last one is because I've already discovered what it unlocks. I'm pretty proud of the fact that I've got to this point with no help or hints whatsoever. The temptation is growing to start looking stuff up as the unsolved ones become harder to find, but I don't want to blow the streak.

There is. solve the "raft" puzzle the opposite way.

I managed to get passed the gate puzzle in the the end. Kind of stumped now, can't find any tutorials for any of the other puzzles so I'm just wandering around aimlessly.

Thanks for that post Jiggles, I'm desperately trying to like the game but I guess my brain has become too conditioned to having an arrow pointing me in the right direction.

This game is turning me into a mental person, I'm thinking about puzzles when I'm not playing and have notes scribbled all over the place.
