Anybody going to watch this?

Canada manged to beat China 1-0 which I thought was a bit of an upset. Although Canada are 8th in the world and China are 16th, so it's not really. Also I found out that Japan won the last one and one of the team members has now played in more world cups that anybody else ever.

I think it's great that the women's game is garnering more attention and coverage these days.

It's good that it's getting more coverage but I still get bored watching it. the skill level is getting better though.

This, although I don't personally have any interest in it. More power to them, I say.

Looking forward to the England game on Tuesday, hopefully they'll do better than the men.

I was going to say I don't watch it due to the low skill level in women's football, but I've just watched the Ireland England men's match.... :dread:

Still, the point stands I guess. I just don't find it worth watching, but good on them for having a world cup.

I think it is fantastic and will be getting very excited as the tournament nears the final game.

I'm currently watching Germany against Ivory Coast and the Germans are pretty decent (though that might be the opposition making them look better than they are). Given a decent ref then I reckon they'd turnover a mid table league 1 side.

In contrast to the quality of Germany though some of the Ivory coast defending has been truly woeful. I might take an interest around the semi final stage and in England games but other than that can't see me watching any.

I watched the highlights of Germany game. Felt a bit bad for the Ivory Coast.

I'm half looking forward to watching it, and I do want England to do well, but the quality of the women's game is farther behind the men than anyone would really think.

This is from a game that England won 10-0 btw.

Other than that free kick from the keeper, the French have looked pretty good.

That actually came up in commentary, believe it or not. They say "Man on" and "Man marking" etc.

A little surprised they haven't made up something different although I expect it makes sense.
