After finishing the main story, I've taken a little break from it.
However, I've gone back to it now, and it really is stunning stuff.

I don't think it has sold brilliantly, but it really deserved to, as it was a fantastic, original Squeenix title, with a great soundtrack too. It's from the makers of Kingdom Hearts, and is easily one of the best DS games yet, and thoroughly deserves success.

£17.99 here

Zero punctuation review

I know there were a few people playing it a while back, is there anyone still playing it?

Definitely buy it if you have a DS already, and it's possibly worth getting a DS for.

I've just bought it last week, as I'd been after it for a while so as soon as I saw a copy at a good price I picked it up. Haven't started it yet though. I'm saving it for my trip to Scotland next week.

I'll post impressions once I've had a go.

Game of the year.

Anyone who has played it go on Shibuya's wikipedia page!

It sounds obvious but its quite cool to see pages about actual places in the game like Shibuya 109 or the statues of Hachiko or Moyai.

Played this none stop until you start to get a few badges but then i couldn't be arsed with it. Required too much time after that and there's too many other games out there to play. I could see it's quality though, it's one of those games where i wish i was unemployed and single so i could just devote days to it. Hopefully i'll get round to playing it again soon.

Bought it a while ago, and started playing it last week. First impressions are not good. Combat feels rushed and random, and the dialogue goes on just a little bit too long.

I'm going to stick at it, though, as I suspect it will grow on me. I just don't feel compelled to get on with it yet.

Brilliant game. Recommended to everyone. Dual combat does take a little getting used to. I just hammered away at left or right on the d-pad and concentrated on the bottom screen in the early game.

Yep, best game on DS, easily. I took a break from it after completing the main game too (for Prof Layton), but now back to do all the extras.

Also, was in Japan briefly a few weeks ago, so couldn't miss a chance to see Shibuya.
Here's the Moyai Statue outside the station:

And the 109 Building (104 in the game) - Sorry it's dark, got a rubbish camera:

I liked this to begin with, but it all got too repetitive too quick. Another one of those "niche" games hyped up by people that fails.

I'm currently playing through this and really enjoying it. The soundtrack is rather good also.

It's only repetitive if you play it repetitively. It's unusual for a jRPG in that you can really mix up the way you play it, particularly as you can avoid random battles, level up or down at will, and use a completely different attack set in every single battle. TWEWY isn't a victim of hollow hype - I can understand people not taking to it, but there's no way that it 'fails', nor was it undeserving of the praise heaped upon it.

I was waiting for a price-drop.

£17.99 is almost enough to entice me.

Shame that this is the only Square-Enix DS game that hasn't ended up retailing for less than a tenner.

Oxx- To get it cheaper, order 2 for £30, and in CEX they offer £15 cash or £21 exchange, so sell one of them.

After hearing Jeff play this on Weekend Confirmed I have this sudden urge to blow the dust of my DS and finally sit down with this game. I remember I started this once, briefly but it never clicked but really in the mood to play something quite different and I think this is it! I believe it came out at the wrong time or something which is why I passed on this

Re-watching the trailer has me hyped, the soundtrack sounds awesome. I'm sure this game still holds up, right?

Easily one of the top DS games, and one of the best JRPGs of the generation.

It's a modern-day Chrono Trigger. A JRPG masterpiece, arguably the finest role-player of this generation.
