There is some good British TV around but you have to wade through a lot of crap to find it. I cant stand programmes like Big Brother, X Factor or any of those horrific dancing shows.

I have only caught the end of Battle of the Brains and it didn’t make me want to watch the start of it. I like Eggheads though!

In the various threads since I've been around these parts, Radar included, I don't recall either of you ever even watching it enough to be able to make a judgement.

I've often seen Gandalf in particular complain about it, but I'm yet to read anything which suggests he's ever actually watched it.

Last time I ever watched it, or paid attention to it, was season two. I've since saw small clippets of later seasons and I'm sorry but to sit and watch a load of idiots, TV wannabe's locked up in the some house, constantly bicker, argue, backstab, sulk etc etc is too unbareable. There's enough of that outside the front door, let alone on the TV screen.

Big Brother is just a vehicle for talentless people to get a little bit of fame. There isn't even the pretence of socio-psychological experimentation these days. It is merely a perpetuation of the Heat-esque, mock-celebrity culture that the mass media has foisted onto the general public - most of whom are too stupid to realise that they aren't getting the TV that they they want, but rather the TV that is cheapest to make.

That was pure TV gold. The problem with X Factor is that it's not worth watching after the initial auditions.

The worst thing on TV is Sex and the City. I've actually had the misfortune of having to sit through some episodes of this shitfest recently as my girlfriend had the remote, and strawberry floating hell, it's terrible!
