Really running scared of World of Sport. Presuming NXT UK will be on the Network.

Another show to cram in every week. :dread:

NXT roster is huge and it seemed like the UK talent they signed were barely getting a look in so this is a really good move. Sham it'll be relegated to the Network though.

I wonder where it will be filmed. Will it move around the country or have a residency somewhere.

These are the first sets of taping apparently:

Saturday, July 28, and Sunday, July 29, at the Corn Exchange, Cambridge
Saturday, Aug. 25, and Sunday, Aug. 26, as part of Insomnia, the U.K.’s biggest gaming festival, at NEC Birmingham
Saturday, Oct. 13, and Sunday, Oct. 14, at Plymouth Pavilions
Saturday, Nov. 24, and Sunday, Nov. 25, at Liverpool Olympia

Really hope they do tour around the whole UK and not just go between the same few venues in England.

Hopefully booking some of these smaller venues will give it a different, grittier feel, which is what the U.K. shows have had so far.

Spotted some NJPW chat a few pages back - how are we feeling for the G1 this year? Ibushi/Omega at Budokan on the second last day is going to be incredible.

How shitty of WWE to block Ring of Honor from running Madison Square Garden (according to the ROH COO)

Maybe with Enzo cleared of charges, he went to management to ask for him to return and they laughed him out of the company.

Considering wwe hardly seem to use MSG now I’m not sure how they still have such a pull over them that they would bow to their demands.

PostRe: The Wrestling Thread III: R.I.P. “Big Van” Vader 1955 - 2018
by KK » Wed Jun 20, 2018 5:45 pm

Vader has passed away:

WWE is saddened to learn that Leon White, better known to WWE audiences as Vader, passed away Monday night at the age of 63.

White began his sports-entertainment career in the mid-1980s after retiring from the NFL due to injury. He rose to national prominence in Verne Gagne’s American Wrestling Association before joining New Japan Pro Wrestling as the masked Big Van Vader. He went on to become one of the promotion’s biggest stars and most feared competitors.

Vader then transitioned to World Championship Wrestling, where he would make the biggest mark of his career. He engaged in memorable rivalries with the likes of Sting and Ron Simmons, becoming a dominant, three-time WCW World Champion in the process.

In 1996, Vader joined the WWE roster, where he squared off against Superstars such as Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker. He also found success on the small screen with a recurring guest role on the popular 1990s television program, “Boy Meets World.”

WWE extends its condolences to White’s family, friends and fans.

Shame WWE didn’t induct him into the HOF beforehand.

Big shame reading that news this evening. Vader was easily one of the top big men in wrestling and his runs in Japan and WCW were absolutely brilliant. Sad news. :(

Gonna use this a chance to gloat about the fact that I got my tickets for the final 3 nights yesterday :P

My outside pick for the final is Suzuki v Ibushi, but I think it's hard to predict what's going to happen as the blocks are so stacked. I reckon there's 4 in each block who could conceivably win it, but I'd be happiest with either Naito or Ibushi vs Omega at WrestleKingdom.

So confused with the new UK tournament. The first round matches are up on YouTube, but not the Network? So are they going to go up on Monday? They're advertising something UK tournament related, but I've no idea if I need to watch the YouTube stuff first. It's hard to look into without spoilers too... :x

Thinking about watching something Vader related this weekend, not sure what though.
