I don’t think it is. Spike renewed its deal with Impact this week, but looks like we’ll need to pay for the PPVs from now on. Makes sense from an Impact POV as they can now provide them via GWN, whereas before we would have had no way of seein* them.

Gutted, thanks guys. I think I'll wait to hear impressions, before maybe using the free trial of that GWN app.

2018 WOS Wrestling TV tapings coming this May!

We are bringing Saturday afternoon family entertainment – WOS Wrestling – back to the UK and ITV in a big way and this is your chance to be a part of it for FREE!

The tapings will take place on Thursday 10th, Friday 11th and Saturday 12th May 2018 with high action live wrestling matches featuring the UK’s biggest and best pro-wrestlers!

This is a unique opportunity that you should not pass up! It is fun for all the family. Minimum age: 8 years old (under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult).

We expect tickets to be in demand so families and wrestling fans we are giving YOU the chance to be the first to book tickets for this UNMISSABLE EVENT!

WHEN:
Thursday 10th May – shows at 6:30pm
Friday 11th May – shows at 2:00pm, 6:30pm
Saturday 12th May – shows at 2:00pm, 6:30pm

WHERE:
Epic Studios Norwich
112-114 Magdalen Street, Norwich, Norfolk, NR3 1JD

http://woswrestling.com/2018-wos-wrestl ... oming-may/

They’ve reverted back to filming it at a TV studio rather than an arena or ‘bingo hall’. Looking on Google though the venue does have quite a bit of history with wrestling as it’s been used for Bellatrix and World Association Wrestling in the past.

Say ITV are giving them an hour slot on a Saturday, there’s got to be a minimum of about 10 episodes there.

They need someone like wade Barrett but he’s contracted to defiant wrestling. Whatever happens though it’s going to look and feel gooseberry fool.

I really don’t understand ITVs thinking with this. Part of the reason the big UK brands are popular because they’re aimed at adults. They’re an alternative to WWEs PG output which you could argue isn’t exactly setting the world on fire.

So ITV are going after a market that is already dwindling? Classic ITV.

WCW Saturday Night went out at 6:05pm in America and it looks like ITV wants the exact same slot for the U.K. To have wrestling almost prime time on a Saturday every week is a big deal, but I think it will come down to presentation more than time slot. Hopefully they’ve learnt lessons from how they presented the New Year’s Eve episode.

WCW was good at “fun for all the family” in 1993-1996 (ITV sure keep pushing that line) but they could shoot from Disney and stick the ring on Huntington Beach. We’ve got...a shed in Norwich.

NXT these past couple of months has been emanating from the soundstage in Atlanta that WCW used so hopefully ITV were paying attention. They’ve had long enough to get it together. The U.K. scene doesn’t need another 5star fiasco this year. To have 2 failures in the same year would be terrible.

How long ago was WCW Saturday night though and that was when it was white gold for wrestling ratings.

A shitty family friendly wrestling show on Saturday evening? C'mon this will not be good. Times have moved on.

It depends on the talent, booking and presentation.

You can do PG wrestling without doing silly wrestling. A lot of the wrestling territories in the US had Saturday morning TV slots so they had to be PG. The Charlotte-Asuka match at WrestleMania was PG and everyone loved that. If ITV focus on goofy gooseberry fool then this will fail, if they treat it like it's real then they've some chance.
They don't have any real competition on free to air TV. I just wonder what their expectations are for this in terms of viewers.

Apparently World Association of Wrestling, owned by Paige’s family, were still using Epic Studios for their shows and now there’s a load of controversy on social media that ITV and Epic have effectively booted them out in favour of World of Sport.

I see Don Callis is now doing the colour commentary for IMPACT. Just like old times in ECW with Joey Styles.

Hmm not sure if Brock will be dropping the title now, as a go home show it doesn't inspire excitement.

Get the feeling the women were given the main event slot on RAW as a make-good for the fact they're all banned from the Greatest Royal Rumble.

Yeah i was thinking that as well.

Also is it me or does Lesnar seem like he's not been working out for some time, he seems to be dropping muscle mass and definition.

I presume it's because he's not juicing while he's sorting out his return to the UFC. Not that it's ever stopped him in the past.

He's also on so much money, where's the motivation to do anything. He shows up, stands around for 10 minutes, leaves. At least $100,000 richer.

It's even more hilarious that he's paid so much for an appearance when all it involves is him standing in the ring next to someone else who does his talking for him.

I'm just thinking about this royal rumble as it hasn't been announced that the winner receives anything, there still seems to be no point to it. I can expect wwe to give daniel bryan the win hoping that it will make up for him not winning in the past. Realistically that the worst thing they can do.

Did anyone find the group at ringside cheering for Roman really odd. They looked like plants, the way the camera focused on them and Heyman seemed to laugh when he referenced their chants. It was a group of at most ten and the camera panned to them on 3 or 4 occasions. They were the only ones chanting and everyone else was just sat round in silence. Really strange. If you watch back the opening Lesner/Reigns segment you will see what i mean.

If WWE has resorted to using plants to make it look like people are cheering Reigns, then. :fp:

They'll be piping in cheers next...which were SmackDown still taped, I'm sure they would be.

According to the Network schedule, the Greatest Royal Rumble is going to be 5 hours (5pm - 10pm), not including the hour pre-show at 4pm. Does anyone know if there's a match on the pre-show? I actually won't be back until around 7 tomorrow, so I'll be watching it a few hours behind. Thank god the Network allows you to watch things from the beginning that are currently showing.

I literally had to work out how it was possible for seven title matches on the show, with the lack of Women, but I assume one will be the Cruiserweight Championship? There has been next to no build up for the matches / feuds, so I assume VTs will be light, and it might be pretty pacey, despite the running time. I genuinely don't even know what all the matches are, but I'm still excited. I'll be ordering Domino's in, which I never do for the typical 1 am-start PPV.
