Just finished watching this morning's G1.
The ending to the Naito vs ZSJ match :datass:

I new tuning into WoS right after would be a bad idea but I immediately switched off when I saw Grado.

Or as SoCal Val just referred to him on commentary, "Dave Meltzer's guilty pleasure".

ZSJ and Ishii especially have had fantastic tournaments. Omega vs. Ibushi didn't disappoint but it's blatantly just a taster of what's hopefully to come.

Tempted to watch the final live before work but I think I'll save it for the evening with a takeaway :toot:

New gimmick: The Sexual Predator, Randy Orton.

WWE is looking into claims that Randy Orton inappropriately touched himself in years past when meeting new writers.

The allegations surfaced this week after a Reddit user revived a story told by Court Bauer during a 2012 edition of the MLW podcast (subscription needed). What follows is the transcription from that user:

"For every new writer that would show up, he come in the room, put his hand down his pants, pull out his d*ck, touch himself, then say "I'm Randy Orton, shake my hand. Oh, you dont want to shake my hand? You're big leaguing me? That's f**ked up man. Should I tell Vince and Steph you wont shake Randy Orton's hand?"

The story went on that during those incidents, writers would continue to feel uncomfortable as Orton cut a promo on them while remaining exposed.

WWE released a brief statement to F4WOnline.com that they are "looking into the matter."

Bauer said he avoided the situation as Stephanie McMahon walked into the room at the time Orton was reaching into his pants. Bauer said the story was true when asked on Twitter Friday, adding in a separate tweet that has "no qualms" with Orton.

...and then Kevin Spacey walked in.

I find it really odd that it can have taken this long for something like that to come out. Surely after the first couple of times people would have started talking and complaining. One incident can be written off as one persons word against another but when it’s happening to multiple people something must be amiss.

This G1 final is brilliant! No idea who’s going to take it.

Let’s go Ibushi!

Last three nights were incredible. I'm going to put it out there that in person, I think I prefer the Japanese crowds to western ones.

I think we were the only ones there that were happy ZSJ beat Naito

If anyone gets the chance, I highly recommend coming over for a show. 5* experience.

Ratings for WOSwrestling have fallen even further to just over half a million (now including +1), which is a strawberry floating shambles.

The editing is a really big problem. I don’t think I’ve ever seen wrestling, or any sport for that matter, filmed worse. It’s incredibly distracting.

Unfortunately looks like WOS is just a continuation of the horrible track record of wrestling on terrestrial TV dating all the way back to the 80s. At least had ITV taken up WWE’s offer of King of the Ring it would have revealed the true ceiling of viewer interest in wrestling. Last time WWF was on Channel 4 in 2000 at 4pm it was 2 million.

Wonder if ITV will see sense and give it another shot on ITV4 or after this flop finally sell the brand (i.e. the tape library) to WWE. ITV previously refused.

I think it’s a real shame. I no longer watch Defiant Wrestling but I did for a while when it was WCPW and I always felt that the production was excellent. If something like that got onto tv with a larger production budget then I wouldn’t find it embarrassing to watch however I just can’t stomach WOS. It is slightly better than five star though :dread:

I think ITV wanted to own their own commodity rather than purchase something which may then go on to be a success and which they then have to fight to keep. Making a success of WOS would have given them their own revenue stream, merchandising, and ultimately PPV on ITV Box Office. But you need a Barry Hearn type to pull it off. Look how long it took Ted Turner to make a success of WCW - nobody there had a clue, and it’s probably the same with ITV. In terms of how WOS looks and is produced however, ITV1’s fingerprints are all over it, and it’s to its detriment. Someone has clearly looked at WWE and on the surface tried to replicate it (right down to the LED boards, which actually overhangs the ring; floating crane cam from SmackDown, which WWE binned after about 4 months; and ringpost camera, which WWE had built but never used because it sucked).

Freesports as well. The con artists at 5 Star no doubt promised the earth and had absolutely no chance of delivering on it.

strawberry floating did that double knee moonsault again to Tanahashi  :dread:

That G1 final :o
Shibata in Tanahashi's corner  Expected him to win since Ibushi isn't full-time with NJPW and thought it would be far too soon to have a big Ibushi vs Omega title match. Can never believe Ibushi is 36 he still looks about 20

Wonder if they're gonna give Tanahashi another title run as one big last hurrah. is easily one of the best of all time. Can't think of anyone else who ticks all the boxes as much as he does.

Is Bert Hart now the only surviving member of the Hart Foundation?
