Ridiculous ending to Raw. The women stop fighting because Stephanie walks out. She then to no surprise announces the women’s royal rumble. Now I seen pictures of all the women holding each others hands up. So much for Absolution hating everybody.

Still can't believe they're doing a Live Christmas Day RAW next week.

Looks like Kane's taking the pin at the Rumble.

Think it’s time for Kane to retire, he looks terrible, and that mask with the wig just looks ridiculous. He could have his last match at ‘Mania, possibly for a Brothers of destruction reunion! I think Kane’s been a big enough star/character to warrant a ‘Taker return, that way they they could both go out with a win for a feel good moment. Unlike the worlds saddest striptease at last years Wrestlemania.

The GRcade wrestling Twitter has been good today. John Cena gave a pretty robust defence of the PG era, that was an interesting link to read. Also the rumour that Vince has banned the "this match is scheduled for one fall" call because he doesn't like the fans shouting "one fall".

Honestly, the guy seems really detached from the audience at times!

The way they announced the women’s Royal Rumble was shite and kind of patronizing.

These women were beating each other up a few minutes ago. But forget storylines and let Stephanie have her moment again.

The equivalent of somebody breaking character in a film or theatre production mid performance. But this women’s revolution at points has felt forced rather than organic. Don’t keep telling people you’re having a women’s revolution, just let it happen with the natural progression of storylines. I still think Mickie James and Trish Stratus is one of the best women’s feuds they’ve ever done, and they didn’t have to keep turning to the camera every five minutes to tell everyone women are now ‘a thing’ in WWE.

I find it patronising but then it's bizarre to me as I'm male. Some women, especially Americans seem to enjoy hugging and getting emotional over things that seem insignificant to others.

Or do I now sound patronising. Basically I think some of their reactions were legit and they were frilled by it. And although they would have guessed what was coming they probably didn't know before hand of the announcement.

Interesting how they put it in the final hour and the main event slot, which is now proving to be the least popular hour of RAW. They started the show with 3,085,000 viewers and by the end they had 2,470,000.

It has given them a ton of press coverage today though.

Watching SmackDown it felt a bit weird for the Women, the Flair & Naomi moment was nice, but there was little else Rumble related, aside from the recap package from Raw. You'd think the most logical thing, to include everyone, would be to have the SmackDown women come onto Raw, perhaps make it look like an invasion again, have the Raw women come out and brawl, and then have Stephanie break it up, saying she invited them here for the historic announcement.

'Vince McMahon sells $100M worth of WWE shares and files for 5 new XFL trademarks as all signs point to the revival of the beleaguered 2001 football league.'

http://www.espn.co.uk/wwe/story/_/id/21 ... inment-llc

I cannot believe this.

I’ve been reading about this over the last few days, it’s confusing me massively. American Football is seen to be slowly falling out of favour in the states as basketball and soccer are gaining more interest. Although it’s still their biggest attended sport and will be for the foreseeable future I just don’t get what he thinks he can achieve. XFL was a massive financial expense, if I remember right it was expected to lose that much in its first year and was budgeted to but NBC pulled out of the tv contract. I can’t see tv climate being any better now unless he’s thinking of taking it all online. Big big gamble.

Another way of looking at it is that it’s his money and he just wants to have some fun with it in his last years.

Ban players from protesting the anthem, legalise helmet to helmet hits, make the catch rule easy to understand, make the QB fair game for getting hit, in other words make football tough again. I can actually see the logic behind this decision. Its not going to work but I can see what someone would try right now.

Could be good for WWE, if Vince takes a step back to focus on the XFL, Hunter would get more leeway with most things like creative and talent signings.
Plus I always wanted an XFL T-shirt :slol:

You’d wonder who’d be going to a wrestling show on Christmas Day too. Weird old yanks.
