Enjoyed that quite a bit. The actual matches were great and seem to have enough characters for the 10 episodes.

The over ITV Ninja Warrior style production takes you out of it though and the camera work was shocking. Missed so many spots, seen 'Crater' (Dave Mastiff?) flip someone down the ramp in background.

Id imagine Grado will win it back on last episide or something. Great first show.

Opening was shite and the camera work is all the worst parts of WWE's quick cuts but other than that I really enjoyed it. Looking forward to the women's title match next week, Viper is really good.

Mastiff is signed to NXT UK so that wasn't him. Dunno who it was.

It's decent Saturday teatime entertainment. ITV have been lacking that for a long time.

Currently watching IMPACT on Showcase and “Scarlett Bordeaux” has just debuted. Straight out of the WWF Attitude Sable/Trish Stratus playbook. LEWDNESS with a microphone, a promise of wanting to make wrestling sexy again, and refusing to be “hot-shamed”. Cyrus the Virus getting a bit over-excited on commentary like it’s ECW. Just like old times.

That NXT main event this week was so good. Sometimes it feels like NXT is just going through the motions until the next TakeOver, but there's been one amazing match near enough every week this year.

Brian Christopher has died.

Former WWE Tag Team Champion Brian 'Grandmaster Sexay' Christopher was rushed to hospital last night after hanging himself in jail. Multiple sources report that the situation is dire.

The son of Memphis wrestling legend Jerry Lawler, Brian Christopher was born Brian Lawler in 1972. Following in his father's footsteps, he spent a decade working in Memphis' USWA under the name 'Too Sexay', feuding with many of the territory's top stars - including 'The King' himself - before making the switch to WWE in 1997. At first drafted in to bolster the fledgling Light Heavyweight Division, Christopher eventually found his feet pairing with Scott "Too Hot" Taylor as 'Too Much'.

The relationship between Christopher and commentator Jerry Lawler was a running inside gag, with the team mostly making up the numbers before a 1999 transformation thrust them unexpectedly into the spotlight. Adopting the names of Grandmaster Sexay and Scotty 2 Hotty, the newly rechristened Too Cool became unexpectedly over, thanks in part to the addition of the break-dancing superheavyweight Rikishi. Hitting the height of their popularity at the turn of the millennium, Too Cool found themselves in headline programmes opposite Triple H and Edge & Christian.

An ill-advised Rikishi heel turn and a broken leg for Scotty 2 Hotty ended the run abruptly. Christopher was soon shown the door, released from the company when they learned he'd been smuggling drugs to Canada.

Since his release, Christopher drifted around the independent scene, working in TNA for two years alongside other second-generation stars Erik Watts and David Flair. He enjoyed a few brief cameos back in WWE - notably in 2011 when he infamously came back to a muted reception - but was never handed a long-term run back in the company.

He has had demons for years, awful way to go.

Unless I'm going mad that report doesn't say he's actually died, just in a dire situation

Yeah, he’s still alive. Unfortunately however Nikolai Volkoff has passed away aged 70: https://www.wwe.com/article/nikolai-volkoff-passes-away

Seems like Brian Lawler has passed away. No age at all.

920,000 for World of Sport Wrestling last night on ITV1. Doesn’t include consolidated numbers from +1, Hub, today’s morning replay so should go up another 500,000 at least.

Doesn't include the numbers for the HD channel either.

What's going on with this big Elias push. Is he one of those gooseberry fool gimmick characters that no one likes but Vince thinks it's hilarious so he's getting massive push?

There's a 13 or so minute Live musical performance of his now on the WWE Network from a bar in New Orleans. I was watching it and it really did feel like someone had taken The Rock's Rock Concert scripts and passed it to Elias instead. On RAW they've done the whole 'don't smash my guitar!' shtick about 3 times now (which Rock also did with Steve Austin the first time). And of course he smashes up a load of guitars like Jeff Jarrett used to do.

I haven't listened to his iTunes release though. :dread:

I think Elias is great at interacting with a live crowd. He was very popular at the Birmingham house show I went to in may. He seems fairly decent in the ring to me as well. I can't imagine him getting to the next level with his current gimmick though.

WWE just emailed to say that following RAW tonight there’s a spoof documentary about the making of Elias’ new album: Walk With Elias - The Documentary.

Having got watched the highlights it appeared to be the best raw for quite a while with some actual character development of Lesnar. Although my assumption is that Heyman will turn on Brock and cost him the title, either for Reigns or the MITB (strowman or Owens) holder to cash in.

It would’ve been so much better if it was Lashley instead of Reigns, he could benefit a lot with Heyman as his mouth piece on a monster heel run, basically just turn him into the black Brock Lesnar (Black Lesnar?).

The fight network on 192 is gone already? Didn’t last long, some Elvis show is on now.
Edit: it’s on 455 now.

Where's the NJPW crew? You been keeping up with the G1? Because Omega/Ishii and Naito/Ibushi from today were both incredible, especially the former. They beat the absolute gooseberry fool out of eachother.
