If true and he doesn't mean RAW/SmackDown again, that sounds to me like another NXT special. Would be very surprised if it's Backlash (which was this year's May event).

Stephanie McMahon did tell The Scottish Sun they were definitely coming back for a TV event.

Well that's embarrassing. It does look like it could be a PPV/TV logo though. After Great Balls of Fire anything is possible, but it shows he went and reported something without even verifying it with anybody else. I don't know if the original post was tongue n cheek.

Seems he may have also forgotten the UK PPVs that ran from 1997 to 2003 as well, which were available in Canada and Europe via Sky Box Office (and were introduced in late 1997 by a Bret Hart storyline in which he hated the US so much therefore they couldn't watch it). These shows initially started out being very successful both on PPV and in terms of live gate, but gradually diminished as they became house shows that never even got referenced on TV.

And of course there was NXT in 2015.

It's really bizarre, he was supposed to be facing Rusev for a spot on the SD team at SS. With that leaked SS poster with Cena as the special guest referee, and them apparently building to Cena vs Mahal for Cena to break the World Championship record it feels a little as if Styles is being used to raise excitement and ratings, at his own expense, because he's bound to lose again, surely? Especially with the India tour being after SS, and Styles not even going to India...

I'd die if he won though... SS kinda needs everything turned on it's head to be honest, the Champion vs Champion thing has led to a woeful card because we're in an era with woeful Champions.

Maybe ticket sales are slow for SmackDown. RAW always sells out in the UK, but SD tends to have the upper deck darped off.

I forgot they're both from the UK this coming week. Seems to stack the deck even more against Styles. With the delay to US broadcast they're not going to want such a big spoiler floating around before the show. I'm really looking forward to the shows though.

People may tune in to see how he wins it. I mean WCW gave away that Mick Foley was winning the title and that basically backfired big time on them.

Take it he's not working for wwe at the moment? And this must be the first time he's wrestled outside of wwe this side of the millennium? I always got the impression from his books he was loyal, I wonder if he got their blessing. The behind the scenes is more interesting than the match itself on this one.

I don’t think he’ll be wrestling for WWE next year, he’s having a “Rock and Wrestling rager” next October, basically a cruise ship that features rock music and wrestling. There’s going going to be some big enough indie guys on it including the bullet club guys so Jericho might be out of favor with Vince for a while.
