Saw evidence of it already following his win, but I can't wait for another iteration of USA vs the evil foreigner routine.

What on earth has happened to Impact  Kongo Kong... that woman in the wedding dress... Is Rockstar Spud an announcer now? Not sure I'm overly enthused about a GFW merger.

I keep forgetting about this thread since it moved. :(

I didn't know it had moved, where did it move to? Was it not always in discussion? I don't filter my topics.

It used to be listed under the Entertainment tag. Which tended to be the only tag I checked for non-gaming content.

Thanks, that's much more convenient. Less topics to scroll through to find.

I've definitely gone off Impact. :( It doesn't feel like it has that tongue in cheek knowing wink anymore. You can really feel the lack of The Broken Hardys and The Miracle Mike Bennett and Maria. I hope it's true the latter two have signed with WWE.

Did anyone get a Network e-mail from Kurt Angle, confirming his presence at Payback? Seemed a bit over the top... unless he's actually due to wrestle...?

I think this Kongo Kong needs a bra...

Impact certainly feels very different. The backstage 'rocky' set is very Thunderish (when it first debuted). Feels a bit flat though, and like a company that's very much starting again. Shows how far they've fallen in recent years.

Seriously good main event. Amazing guys from the early TNA days like Low-ki and Sonjay Dutt just seem to get better. I wonder who Suicide is currently.

Andrew Everett and that Xavier guy were seriously impressive too.

Didn't get to check impact out. Is it still recorded on the same stage in Orlando and are they still using a six sided ring?

Yeah, still in Universal Studios, judging by a few familiar faces in the crowd, but the set looked much better (and brighter) than when it was last on Challenge. Still the six-sided ring too.

I think iMPACT looked best during the Fox Sports era and the 2 ramps.

It feels like this 'Make Impact great' campaign has been going on for the past 8 years...

The Sanity gimmick in NXT is TNA levels of cheesiness.

Braun Strowman vs Kalisto in a Dumpster match announced for RAW. I don't think they've done one since King of the Ring 2000 (which was also a tables match). I wonder who on the writing team suggested bringing this stipulation back.

It's Caleb Konley.

I don't think I've heard of him, but it's good to know. I've always enjoyed the under-the-mask antics TNA pulled in the past with the character, with the likes of Christopher Daniels and Austin Aries. He seemed solid enough in the ring too, judging from the main event on Friday's show. I loved that feint off the top rope.

I wonder whether the couple of years they signed up a lot of the top stars are responsible for their fall. It seemed like Hogan was behind the suggestion to get them on the road and in hindsight it was an absolute disaster. It also felt like it totally drained their financial reserves as since that era ended they have just had non stop talent departures to the point where they don't really have any big names.

They've never had any money, or made much either. TNA was facing bankruptcy back in 2002 before the Carter's stepped in to finance the promotion. The money problems have been ongoing ever since.
