Did Kevin Owens shout something he shouldn't at Shane McMahon last night? Watched the YT international edit and he shouts "Mother..." and then the audio cuts out and there's an abrupt jump cut.

Ouch, seeing empty arenas like that is painful. Awkward, even.

So Mahal vs Nakamura at Hell in a Cell isn't going to be a Hell in a Cell match despite every match they've had so far resulting in interference from the Singh Brothers.

What?

EDIT: I wonder who is going to win that match

The last time WWE did India everyone on the roster hated it and a number of them got sick.

I'm guessing John Cena vanquishing the evil Mahal is still on the agenda at some point.

I see they're now dressing up Enzo Amore as Jimmy Saville.

Roof would have come off if Angle had announced Rey Mysterio instead of...Kalisto.

I’m sure if I watched it live I would’ve been expecting Mysterio, seemed a bit gooseberry fool when it was just Kalisto that wandered out. If Mysterio did return I doubt he’d want to end up on 205 live anyway.

Smackdown until the last segment really was an appalling show this week. There's only so many recaps, video packages and pointless promos a person can sit through. Not one decent match all night either.

Hell in a Cell should be quality though.

I rarely watched wcw, was war games always with two cells next to each other or did they sometimes have weird configurations?

It was two rings with a smaller hell in a cell over each.

Always double ring, double cage - apart from one version Vince Russo did on a Nitro in 2000 that was terrible. War Games was associated with Fall Brawl from 1993 to 1998, and before that WrestleWar and The Great American Bash (I think they're all on the WWE Network). This WWE version appears to be based on the 1998 edition, in which WCW upped it to 3 teams rather than 2 (but rather ludicrously was billed as being "every man for himself" to gain a title shot at Goldberg the following month). The 1998 version also included a pinfall finish, whereas before it could only conclude with a submission. Entrants come in at various timed intervals until all participants are in the cage, and only then can it end - that portion was often referred to as "the match beyond".

Vince McMahon has never wanted to do one because A) it was WCW's and B) it takes up so much room, particularly with WWE sized rings.

Didn't TNA have a similar style match? Turns out they did, their version was Lethal Lockdown.

That was just one ring with a cage that came down with weapons hanging from the ceiling.

Almost certain it had the same 2 team mechanic where one member from each team entered to begin with then at set intervals members from alternating teams would enter giving one team temporary advantages until everybody had entered.

You're right, it did. Depending on the venue, the lethal lockdown didn't always have the roof descend on the cage either.

I'm not a huge fan of War Games matches, because they always play out in exactly the same way. Heels use their advantage over the faces (of course), they there's usually some sort of stupid finish.

I'm a little apprehensive about the show tonight. Typically Hell In A Cell is one of the fun ones, but the build up has been poor this year, and it feels like they're setting up obvious finishes. The change to the Owens and Shane match being falls count anywhere makes it seem like Shane will jump off the Cell onto Owens and pin him there, because he'll be too wrecked to carry him to the ring to pin him. I have a horrific feeling Corbin's going to beat Styles too. Styles has been mentioning this cheap-shot artist thing a little too often, Corbin's reputation couldn't get lower, he lost to Dillinger on the go-home show too, which makes it seem like he doesn't even deserve the title shot. I can't say I'm looking forward to another Charlotte reign. As much as I've enjoyed The New Day / Usos' matches, how many times have we seen them clash now? Hopefully the Cell will provide a bit of variety. I really don't want to see Mahal beat Nakamura again. Unless Nakamura gets the win, but not the title, but even then, that'll set up an inevitable rematch where he'll have to lose.

The one thing I'm really looking forward to is Fashion Police's return. :toot: Highlight of my night.

The main event on NXT was really good this week. Both guys may not have much in the way of personality, but it was an awesome match.

Dillinger added to the Styles / Corbin match. Slightly concerned Dillinger is being thrown in to take the pinfall loss. But at least it should make for a more enjoyable match.

They're billing this as a "falls count anywhere Hell in a Cell", yet Chris Jericho vs. Triple H ended with a pinfall on the roof back in 2002.
