It was billed for tonight at SS (which they could still do but I can't find any mention of it on wwe.com), but according to PWinsider Jinder Mahal vs. AJ Styles is now the main event for Clash of Champions. Can't wait. :|

The cruiserweight division is so embarrassing to watch, it feels like the women’s division during the diva era and any time Alicia Fox is involved.

Apparently the WWE are in talks with Facebook Live for a new weekly TV show, to air after SmackDown, so 205 Live might be on borrowed time (or they're going to tape it).

Main Event tapes before RAW though, and that would make the SD Tapings with this potential new show 4 hours long. People might be more inclined to stick around if they knew top tier RAW talent was turning up though.

Well to be fair, AJ could wrestle a broom in a 4* match. I think most people felt their last match was Jinder's best match of all time (not a high bar I know) but it wouldn't be so bad to see a rematch on a PPV.

AJ is at such a great level right now. He has carried the company through some really shitty PPVs since he joined.

I guess this Women's Royal Rumble match is a cert.

Did they really have to introduce the new Smackdown women the exact same way the ones from Raw were introduced just one night before?! Shows that Smackdown really is the B show. The 3 from Smackdown even looked like a budget version of the 3 from Raw. Liv though

Would love for this to happen, but not at the Royal Rumble itself. It could work, but I think the "main" Rumble should stand alone. It would make a great selling point for the final hour of a Raw

I've only just realised Bray Wyatt (in drag) vs The Demon went nowhere.

Oh yeah, how strange.

Also just watched SD. Why the hell have they put a copycat of Paige’s faction on SD. You even have a pasty white one (ruby) who was stood in the middle most of the time.

I say trial it on the preshow. I think it's getting to the stage though where they could really ditch 205 Live and have a full on women's show. It's a massive risk, but with Charlotte and Alexa leading the division I feel it would be miles stronger than 205.

The tricky thing is a first ever women's rumble needs to be and should be treated like a massive deal. It won't headline the Rumble event though, and putting on immediately before would be mistake. It could kick off the PPV, but I think the preshow would be a mistake.

Dave Meltzer getting into an argument with the editor of the Wrestling Sheet (which has come out of nowhere in recent months to get a lot of scoops):

twitter.com/davemeltzerwon/status/934351680279257088

JBL meanwhile not happy with WWE (he has us blocked on Twitter btw, despite never having had any interaction with him, or following...he must search himself ALL THE TIME):

Hey @WWE you sure this list is complete? Might should check your facts. Leave a Wrestling God off the list?

I win US Title, Intercontinental Title, Tag Titles and WWE Title-Grand Slam Champion, and @WWE puts out a list and omits me? Come on man!

Gutted to be missing Starcade tonight. Bewildering decision not to put it on the Network.

I'm watching SummerSlam 2013. After seeing a few people rank Styles vs. Lesnar at Survivor Series below Punk vs. Lesnar at SummerSlam 2013, I thought I better check it out. I've actually seen very few of Punk's matches, but it was definitely as good as I'd been led to believe. Still wouldn't rank it above a couple of his matches with Angle ('Mania and that Iron Man match). But clearly the best of his current run.

The squash matches do nothing to hype Lesnar for me, but his recent matches with Joe and Styles have rekindled my interest. At least until the next terribly booked or lazy couple of matches.

I think the test is if you can ask your grandparents, parents, a person who never watches wrestling/subject matter and somebody under the age of 15 and they know who they are, they’ve transcended the profession they’re originally from. The Rock and Hulk Hogan are definitely those two people. The likes of Ric Flair, Randy Savage, John Cena, The Undertaker, Triple H and Steve Austin tend to fail with at least one of those groups. Big Daddy and Giant Haystacks are another two that would probably fail the teenage test.

I think it’s more an age/lapsed fan thing, but even to this day I find everyone knows the WWF, whereas not everyone knows the WWE. I still occasionally type or say WWF on autopilot. Probably helps that WWF also rolls off the tongue in a way WWE never has. My uncle once called the logo “WW” and I tried to explain to him why the E was completely absent in the logo but not the name.

I just realised that they are going to do title v title at mania (Brock V Reigns) aren't they.

Ric Flair in the 80s probably was one of those names that transcended the industry. But there is no argument that Rock is more famous today, as is Hulk Hogan to a smaller degree, because they got fame outside of wrestling.

That doesn't diminish Flair as a wrestler, he is miles above Rock and Hogan when it comes to the wrestling industry exclusively.

Actually why is that? Couldn't they have just added a line to the F or did the WWF really just smash them in that court case?

I can't say I remember reading any explanation as to why there isn't an E on the end. I can only guess they preferred it with both lines taken off than one added on (that would have overlapped with the red scratching underneath). But then there is also another strange quirk with the new logo as well:

The red isn't properly aligned. There must be a design reason for it, but it does look a bit strange.

When it was the WWF, the name of the company was World Wrestling Federation Entertainment inc., so when the whole “get the F out” thing happened that’s exactly what they did, just putting more of an emphasis on the Entertainment word after. Makes sense too, it’d be strange having it just be called World Wrestling or WW.
