Gave it a vote and gave you a follow. An enjoyable read. Think I've said this to you before, but the action would flow better broken up into smaller paragraphs. Individual actions blend together with it all contained within one.

The Alternate Extras of Halesowen gets another addition, continuing from Chaos of the Mind and giving a bit more insight into Brandon's thoughts and feelings that motivate him during Walking, Talking, Fact Finding of The Alternate Adventures of Halesowen.

Take a read of Falling For Guilt on Wattpad.

Ah, that makes sense. No worries on getting it all uploaded. As long as you're consistent with when.

If you want to maximise viewership, that is.

OrangeRKN wrote:Yeah it can be hard to not do that. A common exercise is to write as a stream of consciousness, where you set yourself some time limit (even just 1 minute) and have to constantly write throughout it, no pausing or editing. Might be worth trying out!

I read this when you first posted it, rudely ignored you, but went away thinking 'that's a great idea — I should definitely do it!'

shy guy 64 wrote:so did any of you try this stream of consciousness exercise? and would you be willing to share the results?

No  and therefore N/A to your second question.

Oh my god, I just realised those December posts were from 2022, not 2023!!

This is how writing melts my brain :slol:.

Just read the first story of that book, shyguy. It's a good one. Will give the others a read across the next few days.

I'm at a little over 24k words now, which I'd estimate puts me at roughly a quarter of the (first) story told.

Another few years and who knows, I could be halfway there!

I need to hire someone to stand behind me and beat with me a stick when they see me procrastinating.

(I'd be dead within the first hour.)

I tried that once. Unfortunately the person I hired was a massive procrastinator too

We should organise a support group.

We'll get round to it one day... maybe.

Well, as the saying goes, a writer's job is 99% saying they're a writer, and 1% actually writing.

A question on writing in tenses, as I realise I might have been doing this without noticing.

Here is a brief extract:

The sound of the door shutting behind her released a breath that Daria realised she had been holding onto. Straightening herself up and regaining her confident stride, she resolved to focus on getting on with what needed to be done.

Should I be writing 'As she straightened herself up and regained her confident stride...' there, instead of using present verbs? I think I used them to give a more active, fluid style to the writing, but am I risking arrest if the Grammar Police show up?!

As long as it's consistent, I don't think it matters which tense you use.

But that's the problem :slol: I'm mixing past and present!
