Is that a wooden coaster? Looks cool. I'm thinking of going this summer sometime, I'll have to make it after June.

I just can't find myself excited for it, which is a shame since new modern wooden coaster and all that at Towers... But it just looks so meh compared to the ones in Europe and what could have generally been given the landscape...

More interested by Blackpool tbh...

I’m surprised they’ve removed the entire log flume. Although water rides, despite being popular in the uk, are always something that I avoid the majority of the time as I hate walking around a park wet.

I read that the log flume was for sale on eBay in parts but I’ve just done a quick search and it appears to have all gone. So that’s a lot of people that have just bought random parts of the ride.

Haha they sold theme items and boats etc. They did the same with the bubble works stuff at chessington.

Log flumes seem to be going, Legoland is going strong but Thorpe has been shut for like 2 years, chessington is getting a rebrand if theirs and Alton one was pretty gooseberry fool looking and worn.

Thorpe Park’s log flume was a bit gooseberry fool to be honest. They could easily do without it what with Tidal Wave and Storm Surge both of which I love.

In April a year or two back, close to closing time so there was no queue a friend and I rode Tidal Wave four times in row. We just asked the dude if we could stay on, I’ve never been so wet in my life.... (and before somebody else says it) “that’s what she said”.

Log flumes make sense in hot countries, they are not so great in the UK where we get 2 days a year of hot weather.

Lies!!
Logger's Leap is a classic. It was made a bit worse when they lit up the first drop (it used to be pitch black), but it is still a great log flume. Much better than Tidal Wave.

Yeah it is great fun, tidal wave and log flumes are different thing.

I do miss loggers, although my favourite flume is at LegoLand.

Merlin's obsession with world's first bollocks is equally hilarious and depressing...

Wooden coasters have used fire elements before, it's nowt new...

More upsettingly, Blackpool have spited their wooden Wild Mouse coaster with nary a mention of its demise... :(

Yeah, it seems like they've got rid of the Wild Mouse quickly and quietly. It wasn't running when I was there last October but there was no indication it was getting scrapped.

As others have said. Other wooden coasters have used fire before. Even Big Thunder Mountain in Disneyland has fire.
