When the state starts looking at its inhabitants as potential criminals before any wrong doing thats when a line has been crossed. I should be free to live my life from intrusion as long as i am not intruding on anyone elses. If i commit a (serious enough) crime, sure, catagorise me, keep my data on file until i die. It's not something i particularly agree with but i can see why certain people deem it necessary. As it is, im sick of my personal freedoms being violated. Twice this year i have been approached by police for taking photographs. I like strawberry floating photography, why am i getting a 10 minute interogation in public and being asked to show the police my pictures? Its humiliating and, to be honest, intimidating. God knows what would happen if i was a muslim. I probably wouldnt be seen for 42 days  Anyway, i went off on a bit of a tangent there so apologys.

Clones!! I don't want the goverment making an army of clones of me to be used as slave labour ;)

Wouldn't you want a clone of you to be made if you die in a war or something?

Nah, when I die I die, I'm not keen on a copy of me living on after I've gone. A clone aermy to fight in wars instead of me though...hmm that idea has some merit...

Please do not post this in the "No Context" thread

Sorry for the severe bump on this, but I stumbled across it when looking for another topic and I don't remember seeing it before. Isn't Internet browsing already monitored, by somebody at least? The ISP? Or is it just downloads that are checked?

Potentially scary stuff - but there comes a point where you collect so much information it becomes useless. It would take massive amounts of technology which is still in research labs to be able to mine that much data, not to mention store and order it. Seriously, the government couldn't manage a project for a web-based junior doctor application. This is sci-fi, at the present time at least.

Well that's great, but what about this:
