The new comments section on the BBC website. strawberry float me, why are re-designs always worse than what they're replacing? If you want to sort the comments now, the whole damn page has to reload. Why? And there's no link at the top of the article to the comments. Utter shite.

Actually work is increasingly becoming the single biggest annoyance in my otherwise relatively pleasant life. I'm really starting to resent work. That's new - for me, at least. After 35 years of work (51 now, started work aged 16 straight out of school) I'm really starting to wish I could just walk away and go live a quieter, less stressful existence.

I think my trip to Thailand just recently has an awful lot to do with this. :shifty: You know, my eyes were opened to other possibilities, etc. Now I just can't shake off the suspicion that there might actually be better alternatives to staying here in the UK, growing ever-older, slowly seeing my savings and pension eaten up by a greedy State before being bundled into sh*tty OAP home to die alone.

Or it could just be a long-overdue mid-life crisis.

This is my thinking too. I have a reasonably comfortable life style which I don't want to give up, but I've had enough of my current job and trying to find an "easier" job that will still keep me comfortable.

I've been thinking about going back to education. I've been working for over ten years now and I don't see things getting any more interesting with my current career direction. All I see right now is redundancies looming. Every week feels like an absolute slog.

Something that annoys me is how people view murderers. Especially ones from the past.

Imagine how weird this video would be if it were about rapists or paedophiles

But for some reason it's okay to turn murderers into anti heroes

TV shows do it too. And the news.

Same and I love my job :slol: I'd like a quieter existence, somewhere warm. But it still has to have good internet.

When a friend shares an awful but stupidly catchy music video on Facebook and you can't get the flipping thing out of your head for days... like this

God the amount of problems I've been having with Sky recently is beginning to piss me off. From boxes constantly crashing or locking up to slow Fibre Broadband. It's like they're saying "we really want you to cancel". Over £105 their bill is now a month. Crazy when you really think about it...

I have the willpower not to click it and listen.

I bet that annoys you to strawberry float.

I left Sky phone/broadband recently via livechat (turns out you don't actually need to tell them - your new provider does that, so I could've saved myself the bother) and it was painful.

The woman on the other end made a right show of herself, TBH - she was getting weirdly flirty, and was hanging onto my ankles by the end of it. It was like there was nothing she wouldn't say to try to get me not only to stay, but to take a TV package.

Honestly, though, over £100pcm is utterly bonkers for a bit of TV.

I now have Freeview HD, BT Sport, Netflix and Now TV's Entertainment package. Including the broadband, that costs about £30 a month, and there's more content than I have time to watch, and I can cancel either of the tv services at any point.

The strawberry floating Nationwide adverts on TV. I hate the bloody song and sometimes they've got two adverts per break.

If I didn't need Sky for F1 I would leave... I am hoping they will bring in a monthly package for NowTV or keep the weekly they have been doing as I could then use that and save a fortune.

I am in an identical position. They indirectly confirmed to me that I need to leave when they refused to replace my dead HD box without me having to fork out.

Yes it's in the T&Cs - no argument there - but when the competition are stopping only just short of offering sexual favours for you to join them, they need to be upping the game. Especially when they have lost Champion's League.

I didn't realise they'd lost the CL - is going to be BT and ITV, then?

The only thing that I am dreading is when BT start charging for the sport. I'm on a 12-month contract (from today, as it happens) so am good for a while, but they keep using the phrase 'it's still free', which heavily implies that's gonna change, especially with the new EPL TV deal incoming. I reckon new BT customers could well have to pay for sport from the start of next season, with existing customers being asked to cough up as an when their deals run out.

Live matches are going to be BT only. I think ITV will have highlights and BT will show the final as free to view.

Its going to be BT full stop. They will make a couple of games including the final free for non bt customers.

I believe it is not 'free' in that you need to take certain packages (either their telly or BB) to get it bolted on.

Either way the quality if the output is crap and not worth paying for IMO. I will be a pub dweller for CL from next season.
