The landlord of my local pub would tell you to strawberry float off if you wanted anything more fancy than a bag of Walkers crisps.

The minimum I expect from a pub is Mcoys, none of this Walkers nonsense.

But they have Seacider. It's changed management endlessly over the last 10 years or so but I like the atmosphere when it's not too busy, usually outside though. Apparently the last management almost cleared out the pub, it was one of the big pub management firms.

There aren't any pubs here I particularly like.

Greene King took Harvey's off the tap completely at the Lewes Arms when they took over. Oh how that went down well. Yeah, just try not offering locals the beer that is literally brewed down the strawberry floating road. :fp:

If it makes you feel any better, a colleague walked in to a shop on a whim this morning and picked up a switch, pro controller, case and zelda with no preorder.

People that say they're going to do something and then don't strawberry floating do it. It drives me crazy. You are wasting my time & do it more than once and I'll never forgive you for it. I never do this to people. The worst one are those that make the suggestion to you in the first place & then themselves don't follow through on the commitment. I do especially love the 'we should go for a drink sometime' from people you haven't seen in donkey's years. It goes in one ear and out the other these days because I know full well they've suggested something they're completely and utterly full of gooseberry fool on.

'My tap needs fixing...I need to get a plumber in'
'Oh, don't bother with that, I'll do it...'

I think people do the "we should go for a drink sometime" thing because it's less awkward and final than verbally acknowledging that there's nothing really holding the illusory "friendship" together.

But then there are those that continue the charade!

'I'm free on Tuesday at 7'. 'Yeah, we can do that' I'll go. Tuesday rolls around and like clockwork the inevitable 'Oh...you wouldn't believe it...but my cat has climbed up a tree, set herself on fire, and burnt down the whole neighbourhood. I'll have to pass.'

[3 years later]

'We should really go for a drink sometime'

How about you strawberry float OFF.

With people you haven't seen for ages the "let's go for a drink" needs to be either last minute ("I'm am going to the pub this afternoon are you coming?") or a long planned thing (like a wedding or a birthday party). The "let's go for a drink sometime" thing never ever happens.

When your dog has raging diahorrea, and some women in the street screams at you to clean it up. Yeah, I know it's rank, but I only have a plastic bag on me - not like I carry a strawberry floating mop on me full time on the off chance my dogs insides are liquidified.

Suck it up through a straw, then spit it into the bin.

Should have soaked it up with a sponge and thrown it at her.
