If an item is mispriced the shop isn't obliged to sell it, however if the pricing error is noticed after the sale is completed (ie, you've handed over your cash and have a receipt) then they can't ask for the item back.

Peruvian people in RTS games (mainly Broodwar).

All of their connections are gooseberry fool so every game is laggy. They then play the cheesiest builds possible, because the only way to defend is through micro which you can't do with their hamster on a wheel connections. I wish I never had to play with another person with a [PE] tag in an RTS. I mean I could choose not to, but I run the risk of playing one day against a nice peruvian in the game with a decent connection and who doesn't play like a total cock.

Sounds like dealing with russians on DOTA 2.

I remember someone getting so pissy about it, they started taking "crisps breaks" where'd he sit there doing nothing but eat a packet of crisps slowly

I did a sort of similar thing, I was the only person who didn't smoke at my first job, at a pet food store, and so I started taking breaks where I would just go outside and walk around the block. I remember one of the smokers once came up to me and told me that "before I came, no one ever took breaks" :fp:

Waking up much earlier than you planned to, then not being able to get back to sleep because you don't feel tired enough, then feeling tired enough when the time arrives at which you were supposed to wake up.

Urgh I know that feeling. Just start dozing off again, nope, alarm and time to get up again.

I am terrible at getting up these days. Except on weekends where I awake at 5am without fail.

Nobody gives a strawberry float what's on your wrist.

Of course they do. A nice watch with the right outfit can look fantastic.

Watches are basically used as a status symbol to show how rich you are tbh.

Past a certain price point, yes. Spending over 1000 on a watch is completely unnecessary

Not convinced you can argue the 'necessity' in spending from £200-£999, though.

Or £11 to £199, for that matter.

Mine was about £110. I have thin, girly wrists so Skagen was the best brand for me. They make very thin watches. I like them a lot.

Just had to look this up... I had no idea it was damp squib.

I then had to look up what a 'squib' was.

Professional offence takers really piss me off. The whole furore over last week's Game of Thrones was an interesting case in point. I watched it yesterday and have zero idea what all the fuss was about. The controversial bit in question was plot and character relevant, and not at all gratuitous. We're in danger of ending up with very vanilla drama on our screens because of some extremely shouty bloggers and tweeters who manage to snowball their rubbish arguments against perfectly valid storytelling. They have no idea about good drama whatsoever.

Edit: fp was at BTB. Totally agree with eighty. The 'rape culture' buses in Cardiff were another example.

What the protesters need to realise is that they undermine their own validity by protesting about literally every single thing that's a bit sexual, all the strawberry floating time. It's like the boy who cried wolf. Then when it comes to stuff that is genuinely a point for debate - Ched Evans, for example - then nobody will listen.

I don't watch GoT but isn't most of the reason people were annoyed about it was they changed it completely from the book?

GOT book people, we get it, you liked it before it was cool, you've read a real book, good for you, now shut the strawberry float up about what's been changed, I don't give a dwarve's cock about it, it's a TV show, not a direct word for word adaptation.

Good shout. I mean, basically, because of the level of detail and increased insight you can achieve in writing, with only a few exceptions, the book version of EVERYTHING is essentially better.

So if we could just accept that as a near-universal truth, we can all stop banging on about it and just enjoy film and TV versions for the accessible, more visually appealing, slightly more passive pieces of entertainment that they are.

I had pure unadulterated rage at a harmless stranger this morning. I was on the Metro and, as my phone is broken, I had no music playing device with which to drown out the banal musings of this overweight middle-aged woman who was on her way to what must surely be the most pointless job in the world.

On an otherwise silent Metro carriage, this woman was talking about the weedkiller she had put in the garden yesterday and she could still smell it this morning with hilarious consequences, and then some strawberry floating inane holiday-based disagreement at work.

Thing was, you could tell she was even boring the bloke she was talking to. I was finding it so hard to block her piercing voice out so I could read my book. She wasn't even that loud in real terms, but her voice was carrying flawlessly. I pointedly got up and walked to the other end of the carriage to a different seat (very quiet as it's half term) and could still hear her.

Thing was, there were some very short breaks, during which the bloke was presumably talking, but I couldn't hear a word he was saying.

Why are loud banana splits so strawberry floating loud? What is it they say about empty vessels making the most noise?

Anyway, I was seething at her, which was probably an over-reaction, but you can't help how you feel.

Theres a woman at work like that, her voice just carries over everything and sounds like shes sitting right beside you at all times. Especially annoying when shes on a call with someone explaining things and having to repeat herself over and over. Its not like shes shouting, its just her speaking voice, it booms out far and wide.
