There's nothing more annoying than flushing and seeing the loo roll just balloon up with air pockets rather than go the strawberry float away. Several times i've had to fill a bucket with water and do a manual power flush to get it to go away (The question is, was it stored in the fridge or not? I will never tell).

On a similar note, showers with low water pressure and/or inconsistent temperature really annoy me.

I stayed in a kip of a hotel once but it had the best shower, piping hot with strong pressure, good enough that Id happily stay there again.

We've got an electric shower in our en-suite and it's weak as strawberry float. Gets weaker the hotter you want the water too, which is massively helpful :simper:

On the other hand I've been in a good powerful shower that at enough heat just literally blasted the skin off my face.

Washing paint rollers, surely using the equivalent of half the pacific to clean them is more of a waste of money than cobbing them away after one use.

I usually just chuck them after I finish the whole painting job. Or if you are painting over a few days, wrap them in up in cling film to reuse. It takes ages to wash them and I couldn't be arsed.

I was a gallery professional and the amount of paint rollers that got thrown into skips was insane. :dread: you don't have to actually get 100% of the paint out, just use one for each paint and squeeze the paint out until it runs semi transparent.

With it watered down significantly, it won't really affect the paint application.

Was mates with a decorator when travelling, and he showed me a good way of at least getting 90% of the paint off without water. Run the back of a knife down the roller quite strongly and it'll strip loads of the paint out. When it stops coming out in larger quantities (kennith.jpg) then you can either run water over it, or wrap it tightly in a plastic bag to use again the next day.

I do the same with brushes. If doing over a few days, just put them in water over night and throw them away once the job is finished.

Yes?

When the bog roll doesn't tear cleanly down the perforated line.
And instead trails off and leaves you with a 1" thick piece from the following three sheets.

What's worse is when you get the really stubborn roles which is nigh on impossible to cleanly start off with on the first tear (when it's all stuck together).

This ongoing obsession with coconut oil on Instagram and the like due to its "health benefits". It's 92% saturated fat FFS!

That works but wrapping them is probably better - you want to avoid leaving hair brushes in a pot as they will cowlick. A tray is fine. But nobody uses real brushes, those cheap plastic things that fall apart and get thrown away after each job. :(

It's almost impossible to find proper brushes for reasonable prices these days.

Errkal wrote:I got banned from using rollers last time we decorated as I make too much mess.

You probably just put too much paint on the roller before thinning it out on the textured part of the tray. Apply pressure instead of rolling fast which just causes it to spray. Also use a medium/high pile roller to hold onto the paint better. Trouble is few people are fit enough to do that as it's bloody knackering. I used to paint hundreds of square feet a day, last time I did a few square metres and was shocked out just how pathetic my arms were now.

I learnt this from Splatoon painting galleries.

It is however, a fantastic edible lubricant. Last forever and you only need a wee bit.

I've stopped buying lube for bedtime play, just a tub of coconut oil by the side of the bed.

Treat those kind of toilets with the contempt they deserve - leave a nasty floater in there. Let your boss sort it out, while you snigger over your keyboard.
