I agree that updating is a good thing but it's a pain in the ass when Windows does it without permission or constantly nags you to update while you are in the middle of something (usually a wank).

People who bring their babies into work. Yes, i would love to hear your spawn crying and wailing across an open plan office for a couple of hours.

I think it’s ok if it is for a short time, a couple of hours is taking the piss though and you should leave if the baby starts screaming.

My boss brought his in yesterday. There was no doubt it was his kid, I have never seen such ginger hair on a baby. :lol

Yeah a brief visit is fine, but a few hours is taking the piss.

People lacking in emotional intelligence and - closely linked - drama queens/attention-seekers.

There are several women at work who tick all of these boxes. :dread:

Colleague walks in looking quite down...

What's wrong Julie?!
Umm, my daughter's not too well, I'm a bit worried about her
OH. MY. GOD. Is she okay? What's wrong with her? Should you really be here?
Well, er, my husband is taking her to the doctor and-
OH NO! I hope she's okay. My daughter was ill last year and OH. MY. GOD., I was so worried.
Er, yeah I'm hoping she'll be okay, I thin-
OH DARLING, she'll be fine, don't worry!
*other colleague arrives* Morning all, alright!
No, Julie's daughter's really ill!

I just... :fp:

Gross. Also at work, people who flirt. There is this woman at work who calls people vile little pet names that make your skin crawl. Things like "poopsykins" and "puppycups" which make me want to puke in my stomach. She called my manager "pork chop" the other day which, apart from being utterly repellent, is just strawberry floating inappropriate. How do we make her stop?!

When I went to the cinema last week on the way out a kid 2-3 people in front of me at the escalator got his foot stuck at the end. (I **think** it was just his shoe given lack of blood/screaming - massive clank/groaning sound).

Queue a million and one people hysterically reaction (to be fair one was his mother...rest just seemed to be bystanders) people coming to look, people coming BACK IN the cinema to have a good gawk. I tried to move people away (basically stepped past the mess off the escalator) and tried to shoo people. No one was having it though. Spectator sport all round.

What really annoys me about Windows 10 is the suggestions, hints and prompts. I've mentioned this before, but having stopped nagging me about why I'm not using Microsoft Edge, it's now reminding me about all the great features of Skype...using massive emoticons. I had to actually stop a recording I was making because of the loud 'DING!' announce sound it made, ruining everything.

In terms of general usability and ease of use, my opinion has shifted enormously to iOS/Apple.

We don't have anything quite that bad, but we do get darling, my love, babes, hun, honey, etc. Not horrendous, but not exactly professional either.

To stop teh "DING" stuff, click the notifications panel button (bottom right), then expand, then set "Quiet Hours" to on.

Sounds to me like jealousy. Although she hasn't got a name for you yet, maybe you'll get one later?

I actually knobbed her a few times a couple of years ago, which was one of the biggest mistakes of my life.

That must make the whole thing slightly more torturous.

Accusations of jealousy are way wide of the mark, I assure you. She's very annoying and I ended it with her. Honest!

No, I meant it must be torturous having to hear her. I thought it would feel a little more awkward and vomit inducing.

Sort of, but only because I suspect she might be doing it for my benefit, always within my earshot. I'm certain it would be revolting even if I hadn't had sex with her.
