When a client asks you when you'll arrive for a call out, you travel and get there at that time, and then they never show up and cancel a day's advanced booking because.. I don't know.

Oh well not a problem when you have other contracts to do. :simper:

Put an item on ebay. BRAND NEW in the heading & in the actual listing. First query. "Is it new?"

I tell you...the urge sometimes to just reply with ABUSE is so strong because some people are Just. So. Stupid.

Maybe they're asking because a large amount of Ebay sellers are strawberry floating liars?

I don't see how asking benefits them then. Unless they simply invert his answer, having assumed it was a lie.

Irritating as hell, but NOWHERE near as annoying as the fanfare played on the PA by a certain low cost, low service Irish airline when they land on time - ie when they do what you paid them to do as a bare minimum level of service. Surely they know the punters think it's utterly stupid!?!

I've literally never heard of this behaviour.

The fanfare or the clapping? Everyone knows the fanfare. And clapping is not uncommon on flights operated by airlines from the Mediterranean.

Ah that would be because I've only been to France, and Japan.

So I've got some filling in to do.

I've flown all over the world and have never encountered clapping or fanfare when a plane lands.

It doesn't tend to happen on private charter planes.

When it's just you and your Dad's helicopter pilot in the vehicle, its not prudent for the other party to applaud during a landing.

Serves you right for being comfortably well-off.

It needed a joke about his mum or dad paying for him, but otherwise it was a good effort.

So they've got it in a reply as well as stated in the auction when they ask for their Paypal refund when the item turns out to be 'not as listed'?

Ebay is full of arseholes, both at the buying and selling ends.
Much like the rest of the world really, that's why I don't sell on there very often now.

Currently dealing with another toss pot on ebay. 15 emails in the space of, oooh, 6 hours. It was all downhill from email one when silly bollocks asked for a postage upgrade. On a FREE P&P listing.

Site has gone to gooseberry fool before you even factor in fees.

I've never been on an airplane where people didn't clap upon the plan landing safely.

I mean why would you not? You tell the bus driver "thank you" when you get off the bus, why not clap as a sign of thanks to the pilots and crew?

I've never said thank you to the bus driver after getting off a public city bus or anything like that. Here you get on at the front and off by the rear door. Like strawberry float am I shouting thanks up the bus to him. If it's a coach then it's a different story of course.

Do you mosey on up to the front carriage of the train to personally thank the conductor when you get off that?
