iPlayer and All4 at least have progres tracking and sync between devices, the ITV account is total bullshit as it doesn't sync, doesn't have favourites, doesn't have an inprogress stuff section yet they are like hey why not get + to remove ads, strawberry float off you app is gooseberry fool and 90% of your shows suck, strawberry float you ITV.

Youtube thumbnails. The algorithms have decided thumbnails need to have a human face with an exaggerated expression and a hand holding the subject of the video. e.g.

But it annoys me because even producers of decent informative videos like Linus Tech Tips have gone down this route, because it gets so many more hits. So where his old videos had titles like "New NVidia Geforce Video card reviewed" with a picture of the video card and the title superimposed in clear text, so they've gone from this:

(Apple haven't "killed" it, they just made it a little big)

or this:

(Doesn't even tell you that the video is about Microsoft all in one hardware)

(It is potentially one of the worst things about youtube yes, it's off putting to the extreme so the psychology baffles me)

Who wants to work for me on my channel that barely gets a video up a month so I can make the most clickbaiting titles and algorithm-inspired thumbnails to become one of the greats of Youtube?

Or who's got enough experience in web design to create a competitor platform that deals with creators in a fair and just way that doesn't involve adverts in any form?

Saw that on the news just now, every time they try and open the runway, the bloody thing shows up again.

I hope they're able to track down and arrest whoever is flying that drone.

They've done that because people respond to it and so those videos will get more views and more ad revenue.

It's gonna happen in any kind of (barely) profit share model. If YouTube net 90% or whatever they're going to promote content that gets hits.

On the less legal side it's the same reason so much copyright infringement is actually allowed, just look at torrent sites.

None of us have ever looked at torrenet sites GG, you know that.

The stupid thing is, there's devices that block the drones from receiving radio signals, making them land back where they took off from but currently they can't legally be used in the UK thanks to some weird legislation.

A website where you buy illegal mounted gun emplacements? Good defensive capabilities I've heard, and you don't even need to press a button with some of them. Though you might want to get used to not having any visitors or getting any post if you get some of those. I've... um... heard they can be difficult to shut down when you actually want to invite someone round.
