Managed to get some kind of cold or viral infection 4 days before I was due to fly to Japan. Throat is sore and I feel like gooseberry fool - missed out on going to my friends BBQ today and seeing a Ghibli show at the theatre later. What a huge pain in the ass and while I'm thankful it's only this currently and I could change all my stuff changing it was a pain in the ass.

Given I'm not sure if I'm going to get worse before I get better and I was in my free rebooking period so I've pushed my flights and everything back a week. Online I couldn't get the flights I wanted even though I could see that they were available so I had to call Japan Airlines and see if they could help. Thankfully they were super helpful and I got both the flights I wanted, but why couldn't I just do it online, why say the flights are not combinable. Also why now, why did I have to come down with something just before I fly.

EDIT: I was regretting doing this but slowly but surely my temperature is going up and up when the paracetemol wears off so I think I made the right choice.

If you hadn't rebooked then you'd have risked not being able to fly at all and definitely not been able to get any of the cost back.

It's gooseberry fool but probably for the best.

I think if you looked at a photo of a typical 24 year old from the 1940s she'd look pretty similar. Hairstyles and outfits aged people quite a bit.
