+1 for the annoyance of consoles and games needing constant updates. I can play my Switch whenever I have a spare 10 minutes free, but I need to actually set aside time specifically to play my PS4 and any of that time spent downloading and installing updates is completely wasted and frustrating.

It is a piss take. You can't just play a game when you feel like it, especially a new one. Rdr2 required a whole evening of forward planning to make sure it was ready to go when my Mrs actually wanted to play it. Imagine how gooseberry fool getting Mario 64 on Christmas day would be if you needed to wait 4 hours to play it once you'd turned the console on.

Setting up a new console is a bit of a marathon now. Download system software updates, create user profile, enter email / contact details, sign up to online subscription (and work out how to turn off auto-renewal), and then wait a few hours whilst the included game downloads.

When my eldest nephew wanted an Xbox One for his birthday, I did all the setup during the day whilst he was was at school so that he could just play the game when he got home.

That was pretty much my experience when I bought a PS4 last Friday. I didn't get to play Red Dead 2 until about 10pm even though I got home before 7pm. Admittedly, it does seem like red dead is a bad example since I was able to sign for for a free PSN account, buy some games on sale, download and install a few of them before Red Dead was 75% done. Still ridiculous, mind.

The constant mandatory updates used to wind me up so much on the PS3, It takes me a while to get myself into a comfortable gaming position and then I can manage roughly 2 hours before my hands become tired and I have to stop - quite often I'd spend most of that time waiting for an update to install then end up playing something for less than ten minutes before needing a rest.

Nowadays, even though it takes me even longer to get myself 'set up' to game and my muscle strength is far worse, I find I can do it for longer now I play exclusively on the PC, purely because there's very few mandatory updates to wait for.

People who talk with food in their mouth. If you're having or know you're going to be having a conversation with someone, don't take a huge bite of food, so large a bite that you have to tip your head back while you speak to stop all the food falling out you strawberry floating animal :dread:

Just as bad though are people who can see you're in the middle of eating something and then choose that moment to try and ask you something or have a conversation with you. You either have to talk with your mouth open, or feel some obligation to rush the food rather than being able to enjoy it so you can respond.

Oh my God this, it's infuriating and disgusting in equal measure.

That happens all the time at work when I am trying to eat. How hard is it to shut up when you can clearly see somebody is eating?

I find waiters at restaurants choose to ask me if everything is fine when I have just put food in my mouth. About as annoying as my old dentist who would try and hold a conversation with me when they had their hands in my mouth.

It's lunch time, you're sat with your monitors off, reading and eating.

"Are you on your lunch?"

"...yes"

*sits down anyway and proceeds to talk at you for the remainder of your break*

That's not a question.

If I sit elsewhere they just talk about work anyway, plus you've got a load of people in your space, so I'd rather be in my own area.

We have a couple of places in the building to go as well as gardens outside when it is sunny (which are smoke and vape free!!)

I tend to go to "The Vault" which is a sort of communal area with pool, air hockey and stuff and find a spot on a sofa to eat and read, works nicely. We used to have a swimming pool but apparently someone died and the pitch and putt went to make space for a car park expansion ...

One thing that annoys me at the moment is the Google maps app having swapped the font around on the bit at the bottom but not changed it for everything else. Mismatched sans serif fonts. :x

On the android app, the stuff at the bottom of the screen looks like it's in Open Sans but the stuff at the top is in a narrower font (maybe Helvetica or some derivative).
