Seagulls are bastards though I'll give you that, got shat on by one of the strawberry floaters when I was on holiday recently. And not just a little blob of it - a whole sodding stream of the stuff right across my stomach and down my left leg. strawberry floating seagulls! :x

I live in the middle of Bristol. If I lived in Avonmouth then I could accept that the little strawberry floaters would be there.

I am going to start a campaign to shoot seagulls on sight. It’s the only way they will learn. :x

Whilst I support your passion for the control of this menace, according to this BBC article you would fall fowl ( :slol: ) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 if you killed a seagull and if convicted would face a fine of up to £5,000 or up six (!) months jail time.

Still worth it I think.

PS: yes I know seagulls are not fowl, it was just a convenient "joke" :fp:

As long as it is quiet in prison, I am happy to do the 6 months and actually get some sleep.

Sadly they've got a real problem with seagulls in prison in this country. They keep trying to get rid of them, get them back out where they belong, but they just keep coming back.

I think they call them "jail birds"

They do sometimes find their way into prisons. We had a thing of dead birds being lobbed over the fence of my old secure unit, with a wee stash of drugs inside.

I approve of dead seagulls that are full of drugs.

Most of our seagulls by the south coast are pretty polite, hardly see any of them on the ground, they tend to sit on chimneys. The council did however spend thousands issuing everyone with giant tarpaulin and velcro bags, to put your bin bags in, so seaguls couldn't rip them apart, followed by the cats, and the foxes.

So yeah, we literally double bag everything just because of seagulls. First world problems.

I once saw several packets of antidepressants and used sanitary towels dragged along the street. They really will attack anything.

I've also suffered a seagull predatory incident. One strawberry floater ripped an entire Cornish pasty out of my hands while sitting on a bench visiting St Ive's. I was so traumatised, I've not returned in 13 years. Having said that, the massive wasps were probably worse.

Lewes is a ye olde town with very little space so for many of the houses there isn't space for outdoor bins and stuff.

Where I am in Hastings they have tap bag things if they are in a flat or have no out door spa e because communal bins cause outrage for some reason, where I am in town we have proper bins as he have room for them.

The hot drinks machine in our office kitchen. We got upgraded to a new machine fairly recently and this thing is ridiculous. It's got a massive touchscreen on the front for you to choose your drinks, which is harmless in itself I guess but seems like a massive case of over-engineering - what was wrong with buttons?

But even more annoying is that it plays random videos all the time - like small clips of nature, some trees, maybe a waterfall etc. Who goes into a design meeting and says - what our coffee machine really needs is to show shitty little videos all the time for no good reason!

Think of the needless amount that has added to the cost of the machine, not to mention the cost of running the thing which is just sat there playing these videos to nobody 99.9% of the time! :fp:

It’s annoying when you offer a solution to a problem and the person dismisses all of your ideas.

A bloke at work has just watched season one of Game of Thrones and wants to watch the rest, but doesn’t want to pay £24 a season.

I told him to pirate it. “but I want to watch it on the TV!”

I told him to pirate it, put it on a USB stick and stick it into the TV. “but I want it in good quality!”

I told him to pirate a good copy. “but I am not very technical!”

I told him to sign up for a free Now TV trial and binge watch it before it is all removed at the end of the month. “but I signed up to Now TV once before so will not get the free trial!”

I told him to use a different email address/name for the free trial. “but that sounds a lot of effort!”

strawberry floating pay £24 a season then you daft prick!

I learnt that slowly but very quickly, helping people is a total waste of time the moment they start rebuffing your suggestions, they're just complaining for the sake of it or don't really care about anything. These people should shut up and go away.

Aaaakshuuully

I've been to a place thst makes those. They have those screens because they're used for multiple purposes. A big coffee chain may have them, a shopping mall may have a standalone one serving fizzy drinks and so on. The screen allows their own branding , selection to be added and changed on the fly. The videos are placeholders and optional, your place could turn them off, but they're there to be replaced by bespoke advertising by said chains etc. FEELING THIRSTY? *slomo video of coke pouring plays* and so on.

I absolutely strawberry floating hate people that do this :x

"Ad, do you think I should change this from red to blue?"

Me "Oh definitely, blue would look a lot better, it would be more in keeping with the branding"

*PERSON LOOKS BLANK AND KEEPS THE RED UNCHANGED*

-

"Ad, there's 2 games in this sale, which should I go for, turd game 1 or GOTG 1000?"

*I proceed to gush about GOTG 1000 for ages, explaining all that is good and what a gooseberry fool game turd game 1 is*

The next day, "I bought turd game 1 in the end, but it's not very good"
