I just wrote a Greasemonkey script to put the buttons back instead.

Yeah Skype numbers basically made local numbers wholesale for anyone years ages ago. I have one in my local area so I can basically send people to voicemail in a form I can actually access anywhere on any device.

Trick if anyone is interested, just set your redirect number within Skype for desktop's settings for unanswered calls to "voicemail" and it will record a message for you. It even works on android/iOS after that. This isn't even documented anywhere.

It's also a good idea if you need a spam number or somehow to receive automated calls.

Then just farm up all the spam with and keep your real number for stuff like bank etc. You could theoretically just never sign into Skype.

I'm very good at avoiding people.

A Skype number costs about 4 quid a month but since Skype calls are very cheap (about 1p a minute) it's a good alternative to a landline, even if the quality isn't always great.

DuckDuckGo is now "Powered by Yandex" :dread: So instead of the NSA getting your data it'll be the FSB.

As far as I am aware DDG uses multiple sources, of which Yandex is one. They have said they don't share any user data with their sources.

I'm sure there are probably ways of tying back search terms to an individual, but not nearly as easily as google which does it overtly. DDG is a US company and the default search engine for Tor browser so I'd hope it has some oversight beyond my basic understanding.

One of our systems has been updated and we have to answer two memorable questions before we can use it again. The options for memorable questions are pre-determined, but the answers have to be a minimum of 8 characters. So I have the following (my answers below are not true):

What city were you born in? Bristol
What city did you meet your partner in? Bristol
First pets name? Jess
Where was your first job? Greens
Your mothers maiden name? Smith

Yeah, I am going to have to lie on the memorable questions, just so that the answers are longer than 8 characters and then I will never remember what lying answers I gave if I have to answer them again in future.

Not all the answers I put in my post were true, I don’t want you bastards hacking my bank account.

I did have a cat as a kid called Jess though, Postman Pat has a lot to answer for.

The amount of money I have would probably only fund GR for 20 minutes.

unfortunately a lot of people have real trouble with money, and it does annoy me when you see people who have enough still managing to squander it

Thing is I know she doesn't. Relies on Mum and Dad (she's in...40s maybe?)

I was already annoyed by the £10 thing as she'd been talking earlier about nearly daily trips to Starbucks over the last week or so...and then that,

It does grate when you see people moaning about being skint whilst posting an instagram of a Starbucks coffee on their £60 a month iPhone 7.

The flu. Not just a cold, but proper flu. Since Saturday I have been in a continuous hot / cold / achy / headache-y / dizzy cycle with little sleep and, after five days, I'm now annoyed about it :fp: . When is it gonna end? :x .
