If porn has taught me anything then Jawa's going to be in for some sexy times.

Don't walk around in your bathrobe with no undercrackers on, Jawa. Plumbers are all perverts.

I bet he orders a pizza while the plumber is there. Guaranteed threesome.

A good work around is to pre-order a bluray that's not out for another few months. They'll dispatch the "add-on" item instantly and then you can cancel the pre-order.

I'd buy music digitally if I could get it in FLAC format instead of the utterly crap variable bitrate MP3s Amazon offer.

Buy the CD then pirate thenflacs if you want to support the artist

I can achieve the same by ripping the CD myself, it's just a pain to have to manually type in the information which should automatically be detected by WMP.

try ripping them with foobar2000, you can identify the tags off freetags db

I didn't know it had that function.

:o .

I'm looking for quick results... someone who will turn up, tackle both needs and leave things in a working condition. And I'm willing to pay for it.

We are all looking for that Jawa. Unfortunately in todays broken Britain we all struggle to find a man that will get hands on and dirty with our ballcocks for a reasonable price.

I ran a new type of clinic yesterday with an increased number of patients - it needs tweaking as it was more stressful than it needed to be in my opinion. I also had a trainee in with me from another department, but it was a bit too busy for her to actually do anything (she vaguely knows the technical details of what she needs to do, but it was her first day with us so she had no idea of the specific needs of our clinic, and also didn't know how to use the software).

You might think that was my gripe, but it isn't! I mentioned my day to a colleague I saw after the clinic, and she was adamant that I should have thrown the trainee into another room and got her to see patients unsupervised.

"You should have got her to prescreen patients."
"It was her first day."
"Yeah but she can already do the vision test and the eye drops."
"She doesn't know the right questions to ask for our clinic so we won't get a proper history [didn't actually mention the software thing]."
"But you can do that when you take their photos after."
"But then I'm just doing the work anyway [and, whilst the risks are low, getting a trainee to administer medication without ensuring a proper history is probably not best practice!]."
"I think you're making it more complicated than it needs to be."

I smiled and nodded at that point. She just wouldn't stop going on about how she would have done it better, despite not being there. She's a genuinely lovely girl but she just won't let things go sometimes, and you find yourself constantly batting away "Yeah but" "Yeah but" "Yeah but"...

Students. :x

My usually very quiet street becomes a strawberry floating racket every night in September when the student wankers start university. I don't understand why so many of them come past at once. My street must be on a route to the pubs someone's put up in whatever student accommodation shite hole they crawled out of.

Everywhere west of Charing Cross becomes insufferable for three weeks at the start of each semester. Living off Byers Road meant that half of the flats in our block were HMO's for the undergrads and they were just all bastards. Loud parties on week nights when I had early shifts or on Sundays when we just wanted to watch the football and get a bit of coursework done. It must be even worse if you live near Great Western Road or the top end of Maryhill where they're all clustered too. :x :dread:

Being unable to scan a current generation UK passport without utterly destroying the spine. You need to be able to lay it flat to photocopy both sections but it's so strawberry floating rigid(!) you can't do it. There's no give there whatsoever.

Pain in the arse.

Can't you use something like CamScanner or Evernote document scanner or is that too shitty?

Hotel websites not showing you the full price up front.

Looking at some hotels in New York in December and the latest trick they seem to be pulling is showing the big price, but then little grey text elsewhere saying "VAT not included"

strawberry floating seriously? Not putting the VAT into the headline price now? On a website clearly aimed at consumers rather than businesses? strawberry float off with that gooseberry fool.

It's OK, just sign up with HMRC, come up with a bogus tax category like "consultation", file your self assessment and VAT returns on time, invent a meeting at the hotel that requires 10 full hours each day to include travel and subsistence (this consultation gooseberry fool be long, yo) and you'll get the tax back in 3 months plus the travel, lunch and 5 star dinner tax free. MONEY SAVER EXPERT.
