Fat activism.

I thought it was just a joke on South Park but apparently it's a real thing where people go around trying to normalise obesity.

If someone is fat then that's their own business. Promoting an unhealthy lifestyle is different and makes them a banana split.

I know the comedian Sophie Hagen had a right kick off about that O_ESI_Y advert recently. I can see why she wouldn't like fat shaming (it's horrible and a really bad way to promote healthy lifestyles), but obesity is a big problem for society and I didn't see that a cancer charity raising awareness was such a bad thing (it's their job, in fact!)

As an aside though, everyone should watch her routine about her Westlife fan fic, I was in tears when I saw it on the BBC.

Are they promoting an unhealthy lifestyle or are they saying "please don't bully me because of my weight"?

The accounts I stumbled across yesterday were very much promoting being overweight as a lifestyle choice.

I saw that alright because Amanda Ferguson (Northern Ireland journalist) replied to her on Twitter. Amanda, who is overweight, was way more level headed about the simple fact that being overweight/obese is bad for you and the ad was making a good point. It wasn't bullying, it was just a good ad.

Fair enough.

I swear, if my camera plays up one more time it's heading out the window, this piece of garbage has been driving me nuts for the last 40 minutes! Now whenever i try and transfer files to the PC, the USB port on the camera keeps disconnecting, to get anything done i have to push the cable into the socket as hard as i can, which when you have a lot of files, hurts like hell as it takes ages, then, when you think you're nearly there, the link fails and you're back to square one!

I hate my camera, i really, really, really, REALLY HATE MY CAMERA!

I don't care what my next camera can do anymore, i'll take anything i can get, any camera of any kind must be better than this crap heap!

You not get an SD slot in your 'puter you can put the SD card in and then not have to worry about USB and junk ?

I put the SD card in the PC's card slot, the little light came on to say it was reading the card, then nothing happened (couldn't even kickstart it by accessing it via the control panel).

All my technology hates me.

I then took the card, put it in my little Nikon camera and tried that, the pics transferred but not the video (the latter being the most important stuff).

Finally managed to do it via the original method just now, but it hurt like hell as i had to keep pressure on the cable and stay still for what seemed like an eternity.

I think this means i'm buying a new camera this week as i've just about had enough.

It may just be the cable I would try replacing that first as it will be a cheaper option.

Not the cable sadly, i have several spare ones and it was the same with them too (tried that solution when i started happening a while back).

Unfortunately this thing really is on it's last legs, i press a button once and it'll do the task 3 times, i try and cycle through my pics in the menu, and it'll zoom through them one by one with me unable to stop it.

It could just be that you have dust and other fluff inside the connector. My phone is the same, I don't keep it in a case so being in my pocket every day dust builds up inside the micro usb port. It got to the stage where I physically had to hold the cable in for it to charge, as it would just pop out on its own.

In the end I bought some interdental brushes from a pharmacy for a couple of quid, they work really well at cleaning out the dust. It's worth trying!

Yeh, I second that - I've 'fixed' several friend's and colleague's phones by clearing the crud out with a toothpick who were otherwise going to buy a new one. It's amazing how much that stuff compacts in.

Took your advice and checked the socket on the camera, not a speck of dust to be found (it's normally protected by a little cover).

I think it really is just busted.

There are a few idiots at work who call in sick several times a year claiming to have migraines. I'm fairly certain these banana splits don't even have headaches, but know that calling in with a headache isn't a good enough excuse, so they bump it up by calling it a migraine. There is no way so many people in the same office are suffering these, and I wish I could expose the bastards.

Several times a year sounds about right for a migraine sufferer.

Migraine is the third most common disease in the world (behind dental caries and tension-type headache) with an estimated global prevalence of 14.7% (that’s around 1 in 7 people).

Migraine is more prevalent than diabetes, epilepsy and asthma combined.

Chronic migraine affects approximately 2% of the world population.

Migraine affects three-times as many women as men, with this higher rate being most likely hormonally-driven.

Research suggests that 3,000 migraine attacks occur every day for each million of the general population. This equates to over 190,000 migraine attacks every day in the UK.

More than three quarters of migraineurs experience at least one attack each month, and more than half experience severe impairment during attacks.

I suffer from Migraines and have found them to be pretty unpredictable, i can go for 18 months or more without one, then suddenly out of nowhere, bam!

Sometimes they happen more than once a year, other times as i said, a very long period can pass, but when one does strike, that's me finished for the rest of the day.

Using Dr Blue Eyes expert diagnosis tools, I can reliably say that you are an idiot that is making it up.

Does this mean my upset stomach a few weeks back was also fake?

You want to have a word with HR and get them to implement The Bradford Factor, it will help cut it right down.
