It's GR.ca.de.

The GR is because we are a Greenland based site.

The .ca is for Rightey and his filthy Canadian communists.

The .de is for Deutschland because Karl fancies Angela Merkel.

Every day someone on the trains will hammer the door open button before the light comes on like a skinner box pigeon - it has never and will never open until the light is on so why do they persist?

Yes - this. Also, people who stand on platforms doing this, when there clearly a queue of people waiting to get off the train who presumably are also able to press the button as they would like to exit the train.

I’m guilty of that when at a pedestrian crossing controlled by traffic lights. It takes ages for the lights to change and so I will hammer the button out of frustration.

I do it out of pure OCD. If I press a button at traffic lights or on a train or whatever I need to do it a set number of times or I'll feel really uncomfortable.

My technique for train doors is to hold the button down beforehand to minimise any wasted time between the light coming on and the button being pushed. Just doing my bit to help the trains run on time.

Yep, this is what I do.

No need to hammer the button folks, just hold that bad boy down and wait for him to obey your command. :datass:

Some annoying gooseberry fool chav once tried to challenge me doing this on a train going into Cardiff - "It 'ent gunnu work if u 'old it in like dat m8!"

The gentle smile of superiority I gave him and the look of bewilderment on his face when the door opened as soon as the light came on was worth every second I had to spend stood next to a grown man wearing a strawberry floating shell suit!

Articles, both on websites and in newspapers, that have headings or sub-sections along the lines of 'So why is x happening', but then proceed to explain absolutely nothing about why x is happening. They just talk around the issue and flatout avoid answering the very question they've just posed. I've noticed it on the BBC website and in the i newspaper over the last couple of days. :x

Needed you on my train today, when we got to my stop, the daft woman at the door just stood there doing nothing (someone else eventually had to reach forward and push the damn thing).

Thats even worse, when someone is seemingly oblivious to the fact they're in front of the button, or at traffic lights when everyone just stands there and nobody has pressed the button.

The parents at my daughters school do this, they will stand at the traffic lights and wait for ages when none of them have pressed the button. They seem to think its automatic for some reason.
